notification on new user's posts

Hello,

it is possible to be notified when a specified user makes a new post? Like the Thread notification but setted on a user?

If an option like these doesn't exist could be implemented or do you know a way using an external service/software to achieve this?

I'm not sure there's a way to do this, but I have considered this if it was a feature.  A person could have something like the opposite of the ignore, where instead it lets you follow that user's posts automatically; people with more follows would have maybe a varying shade of blue on their following button to show how many people are following them.
