BITCOIN is designed as open source, if there is a defect found, since it is for society, people will get something fixed, the process can be quick. That's why some people tried to break down but failed if it is open sourced.

Noone was saying Bitcoin is compromised by this. This is the Off-topic forum - description: "Other topics that might be of interest to bitcoiners" - and cryptography related news definitely fit that criteria.
