Hello there. I have 3 14TH s9 of nov.2017 batch, all of them were with autofreq april firmware (the filename is Antminer-S9-all-201704270135-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz), and miners worked good but a bit hot (temp from 77 to 85C). After flashing the latest firmware (november 2017, the filename is Antminer-S9-all-201711171757-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz) temperature is became a bit lower (67-72C),but. An annoying issue appears. ALL the miners post such thing in their logs:
Code:
Asic[ 1]:681 Asic[ 2]:681 Asic[ 3]:681 Asic[ 4]:681 Asic[ 5]:681 Asic[ 6]:681 Asic[ 7]:681 Asic[ 8]:681
Asic[ 9]:681 Asic[10]:681 Asic[11]:681 Asic[12]:681 Asic[13]:681 Asic[14]:681 Asic[15]:681 Detect a bad chip=16 on chain[6], fixed to 400M
Asic[16]:681
Asic[17]:681 Asic[18]:681 Asic[19]:681 Asic[20]:681 Asic[21]:681 Asic[22]:681 Asic[23]:681 Asic[24]:681
Asic[25]:681 Asic[26]:681 Asic[27]:681 Asic[28]:681 Asic[29]:681 Asic[30]:681 Asic[31]:681 Asic[32]:681
Asic[33]:681 Asic[34]:681 Asic[35]:681 Asic[36]:681 Asic[37]:681 Asic[38]:681 Asic[39]:681 Asic[40]:681
Asic[41]:681 Asic[42]:681 Asic[43]:681 Asic[44]:681 Asic[45]:681 Asic[46]:681 Asic[47]:681 Detect a bad chip=48 on chain[6], fixed to 400M
All of them. The asic chips are different on different miners, but it is always at the Chain-6. and always 2 bad chips.
Please check your kernel logs. And approve (or not) this bug. By the way, the hashrate at the latest firmware is more unstable with more HW errors. I've posted 3 tickets in bitmain support, but they ignore me at all.
Is it critical or I should flash the older firmware better? Or I have some troubles with my hashboards? Please don't ban, if this post is a bit stupid. I'm new in mining, and my english is not pretty cool Smiley

I also moved from your previous firmware version to your new firmware version on two S9s.

I just went through all my logs and did not find the problem you are seeing.

The temperature change is due to a fix they applied to correct for hash boards that have no center temperature sensor chip which was overlooked in the previous version.
