Definitely yes, if you have more money join an ICO is a big opportunity for your investment but before you decide to throw your money make sure you already know about the company that you want to invest..Check their company profile, roadmap, whitelist and of course the most important is the team..Without that maybe you should avoid that ICO..I would recommend take a look at utemis project..

In my opinion, ICO today is not as promised/profitable as last year since every information is now so clear.
I remember last year, some ICO could give us 10 times even 100 times profit. But today, good projects can only give us around 300% profit (CyberMiles, ArcBlock...)

If you look on the ICO launched right before or during the super bull run in December, these ICO prices are currently struggling post-ICO listing on exchanges.  Thus, many are complaining as now. However, if you look further back in August, September, these ICO are generating 5X, 10X, example ICX, PRL, and etc... The months of August, September and October were quiet months for BTC and crypto.

So conclusion is we stand better chance to gain if we started invest in slower period, but after doing some research and shortlist on the potential ICOs.

ICO in general is very risky... stats said that; In 2017, 56% of ico failed and the company usually just left. Some even raised ten of million dollars, and we're not talking about scam ico, but the prject just didn't happen for whatever reason. I know it sounds weird, but only invest with the money that you are 100% comfortable to lose..

Yes even I participated some ico with huge hope finally failed miserably. Because lots of Ico’s coming up with same concept . Some ico’s are really doesn’t have any solution they just copy cat of previous existing solution.

Yes, we have to see whitepaper of a project if you want to invest. Whether it has been a long time and there has been a previous project, whether it was previously successful. It is my indicator, but this is not a warranty the project is a scam or not. Even if you buy BTC or ETH, there is no guarantee as well. Indeed all this is unpredictable. But if you want to buy a coin I recommend to buy BTC. I think altcoin has a greater risk than BTC.

I would heed this advice and add along that even if ICOs aren't necessarily scams most of them fail anyways. This could be for a variety of reasons but remember these are start-ups and most start-ups do fail!

I'd say ICOs are always the best choice if you analyse them carefully. Most investors are just following what others do without any efforts. It leads them to scams and they blame legit ICOs as well.

I've been searching for ICOs for a few days and there seems to be many cases of scams and hacks which kinda scares me. Obviously, there is no 100% certainty which is going to be a successful one but is there any way to identify which ones are at least going in the right direction? The first one I looked at was Mossland's Whitepaper and they seemed good with solid community. Or should I just buy BTC or ETH? Any suggestions and ideas would be very helpful!

ICO is currently of great interest, but to say that this is a perfect choice for investment is not because the current Crypto market is going bad, the coin take turns to reduce prices. On the floor, many investors worry about whether future currencies will end, and what their money will look like.
