I hope that merits will move to real BTC one day . revenue sharing win - win . I think we might need to think up of a new system. I haven't seen people really rewarding people with merits, except for these merit abusers. Normally when someone writes a good posts, their reward is someone quoting their posts to tell them how they are so right, agree, and so on. |

From what I have seen this is only for OP to get merit points! Over 200 points across his three topics!!!
If only people merited whoever comes here and expose abuses! But no, only OP gets merit!
PS: The goal is not to offend! Great initiative from OP!
I'm criticizing people who merit only OP and not other participants.

To publicly disclose the accounts that are suspected to be abusing the merit system. Which in return it could be assessed by others especially the DT members to conduct appropriate action/s. Also, for the suspected user to be aware that even though it's not illegal to do this merit sharing from alts to alts, it's unethical and unfair to the other members of the community. If you found someone abusing merit just report it! I have done it a few times now!
How would you report it? "Report to moderator" button? A given merit is not reversible if you already sent a merit to a user even though the post/s were already deleted, the merit stays. So it's useless. |

So are there less people abusing merit or are there less people caring about it? I'd say a mixture of both. As the initial distribution sMerit dries up there is less of it going on. I still see some but have given up reporting it as no action is taken it seems a waste of my time. |

Im going to bump this up,
So are there less people abusing merit or are there less people caring about it? 1- Requires a lot of work to check them 2- Merit is decreasing 40% this month 3- They still abusing expecially when they needs to ranks up, I have a lot of them saved on my notes, I will report them when I have time. |

Most of the merited people comes from a topic that they created specially if some DT members notice a members potential to contribute in the forum. These are the flaws or negative side of merit system but we should move on from it and over come this in other ways. |

When I was sorting some new threads to be read I recently found this Topic:  This newbie caught my attention for the reason he already have 2 Merits, I'm actually aware that almost all of the newbies now aren't gaining some of this that's why I looked into his Merit Summary.  And suddenly, I found out that the Merited Post of this Newbie wasn't deserving.  So, I actually investigated the Merit Source of that post and voila! I actually found a Merit Abuser and a Bounty Spammer just like this guy ( celtic99). By its nature, Merit is somewhat subjective, as we won't always agree on what is valuable information. However, if there's an abundance of merit being traded to and from 2 different accounts, or more, that's definitely a red flag and maybe such accounts should require a manual review for deletion or reprimanding or however it is you guys handle this situation. Fun times. |
