NEO platform is fairly new but in the long run it might take over Ethereum's smart contract platform. Sure we will see a big competition there. Right now we don't know how successful NEP5 tokens will be, but we already know ERC-20 tokens are very successful. This competition is healthy and good for everybody. It makes better products for both side.

Love the optimistic view for both.

A good competition indeed. But if you will pick now, then it will be better with ERC20 since it is popular and easier. Small investors will be having a hard time of you go to other competitor. They will need to have knowledge with it and it is like being a brand new investors.
Popularity, usage and advertising will be needed for it to grow.
Success of the ICO will still have a larger percentage in ERC20 for now.

My opinion is that ERC-20 in 2018 will also remain in its positions . But on the sly replaced will decide a new project more successful

Ethereum vs NEO, this question has asked every day and not on this forum only. My view that Ethereum at the moment is better, but NEO has great potential, but it is just potential at the moment.

Ethereum seems the best but only because it is just the one that people are most familiar with. I think you can find so many developers now freelancing on several sites and even here. They can give you exactly what most ICOs need, which is ERC20 token.

You have NEO, you have Waves and Stratis among others. Actually all are cheaper and at the moment can handle so much more transactions but then people just do not know about them yet. Once these are used and people move on and realize how easy they are, it will not be about which is better but which is easier to exchange.

Waves and Stratis are midgets compared to Ethereum. If waves had 1/10 of Ethereum transactions it wouldn't go anywhere, Stratis is even slower.

Everything runs fast with only a few transactions on it.

On the NEO vs ETH debate. If Chinese government decides to support it and not VeChain the price will grow. But globally NEO has no chance of coming anywhere near Ethereum. Ethereum has much more visibility, money and much, much better developers.

I think in the long run I really believe nep5 will overtake erc20 because the technology and cost of NEO make it better to launch ICO and other coins. The only problem at the moment is the lack of choice for a nice wallet for NEO. Currently there are official, or a nice NEON wallet but we can do with some more that offer nep5 anyway.

Of course NEO is better platform than Ethereum so it's better to choose it. But Ethereum is the most recognizable platform for now.

both doing very similar things, I think they will co-exist for a while.

NEO is going to have a great year with all it's ICOs.

I think it's worth adding both coins to the portfolio. Because NEO has a great potential and the price is 8 times lower so far than that of the ETH.

At NEO it is not possible to make a fork or hard fork.  This happened with ETH in the past.  In addition, there are many arguments in favor of the fact that NEO is many times greater than ETH.  As soon as NEO developers create more convenient and safe wallets, as well as exchanges for trade NEO \ Fiat and other infrastructure, we will see how the NEO will overtake ETH and many other projects.

I think NEP5 eill slowly take over ECR20. Neo is much faster with low fee and less scalability.

I disagree, I love NEO too, but Ethereum has proven and quite successful as an ICO Platform. Ethereum also lauched its new platform, ERC233. https://medium.com/kinfoundation/the-new-erc223-token-standard-8dddbf1a5909 I think it will change the game again.

What is the best platform to build a ICO? Neo or Ethereum?
What is the best platform to build a ICO? Neo or Ethereum?
This two was nice to build platform of an ICO but for me I will choose ERC20 Ethereum because it is more eligible for an ICO project filled up form and in terms of donation to make ICO Project successful.Aside from that, Ethereum was the second list of cryptocurrency that conduct a large type of value price with next to bitcoin acceleration. It creates a big impact especially after conversion of tokens to Ethereum which directed to bitcoin and declares into fiat as our income. This is only my thought and experience base on the different compaigns I have joined to make me succeed what I'm here now.

I think both will co-exist and dominate the ICO scene in next 2-3 years.
You are right about NEO, it's cheaper and faster... for now. But few thousands ICO's are already based on ECR20.

For my own opinion I will choose ERC20 which most popular in terms of an ICO Bounty Project.NEP5 is good but i was more comfortable of ERC20 for donating and investing project.

NEP5 Better. Because it's faster, safer. It just needs some time. Bigger places will come. Some patience
