Even though ASIC's are eating up the Skein (and other algo) market not everyone can afford an ASIC which still make GPU mining a viable option.
can you afford 5x gtx1080ti? If you can that means you can afford one X10 Giant thang. Nevermind the power cost of 5 cards Wink g-d strafe hashfaster pool for disco nnects

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I mined about 45 CURV with my 2 nvidia rigs (2 x 1080, 4 x 1070, 4 x 1060) of these until I read all the posts about skein being an ASIC friendly algo. What a shame! I was also interested in ARGO but I may abandon it for the same reason.

Why choose such an algo for something ostensibly for a "decentralized" platform? Neoscrypt would have made more sense, but there are SO many neoscrypt DASH clones out there.

Anyway - I will be interested to see what happens when/if this hits an exchange and I can see what my 45 CURV are worth - was it worth mining them with GPUs for about 12 hours? I guess we will see. I would guess that when plenty of these skein ASICs are up and running, this and other skein coins will get so diluted they will dump in price. So I guess I will sell mine sooner rather than HODLing.

Is it on any exchange yet?

Crypto currency enthusiast and miner since 2015. Mined approx 200 ETH during 2016 and 2017 and sold it at approximately $US40 each. Then I watched it reach $1000+ each. If anyone bothers to read this stuff pay attention to this: HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL

I started mining with 1 AMD 7950 and 1 R9-280X. Then I gradually built my AMD operation into 12 R9-290s. Awesome ETH hash but ridiculous power consumption and heat. Over the last year I defected to the Nvidia team. I now use GTX 1070s. They were expensive to buy (probably a bargain now) but awesome hash rate vs. power consumption. blah blah blah blah

Or you could choose Lyra2v2 and get wrecked by NH Cheesy

No exchange yet. But judging from the auction, they're selling MNs (25k coins) at a max price of 1BTC. That would put the minimum price around $0.35 - $0.45 per coin.

I dont get your logic and can you write more clearly?
if there will be asics of this coin why will there because of this dump price? neccesity of making asics is when  difficulty is so high that mining with gpu is unprofitable and at this time there is demand and accordingly price is high or average, otherwise what does matter to make asic?

Either skein nor neoscrypt are a viable solution currently. A x17 MN coin would be interesting as x17 consumes less energy, it's not listed on nice hash and there are no ASICs (yet). That would finally be something for the small (not warehouse) miner Smiley

I did like ARGO cuz it was low diff for some days but then even more people started mining it. Also we saw C11 Bithold and it was even profitable but then we had dump. And also skunk too, but recent cases don't inspire ppl much

Français translations

When you use google translate don't say it's french please.

French translation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2904244.0

Perfect one, pm me if you dont like it

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2904066 is just a google trad translation. I've worked on mine

I confirm that this one is better than the 2 others "french translations" proposed.

Both of them are bad, one from someone who don't speak a single french word, the other one from a newbie that can not post picture.

Now enjoy your french translation op Wink

Yep, sry for images. Do you know how I can fix that?
I tried to edit, but it did not work. As you said, newbies can not post pictures :/

In any case, you can not say that mine is bad simply because of the images

But translations issues remain : "plateformes d'échanges" and not "exchanges" for example.

Dear all,

Apart from the typo that you mentionned and that I corrected (thank you for your help), I am confident in the quality of my translation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2904359.0 which is consistent with my previous work. If you have further constructive criticism I will gladly implement them. As for the fact that the pictures aren't showing as I am a Newbie, I am working my way towards higher rank by trying to post quality and meaningful posts which is taking a bit of time.

"Poste originale". First word, and already wrong. "Poste" exists but not in this context. So...

@everyone
This is a MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE FOR ALL USERS. Unique version string is v1.0.0.0-976ea19 (it's not catching the git tag for some reason)

We are PLEASED to announce that our testing has been a success with the new wallet. Masternodes of correct collateral are ENABLING and they will begin receiving  full payments (as opposed to partial) 2/10 @ 2PM UTC.

If you are running a MASTERNODE, you will need to set it up again, reconfigure for 25,000 CURV. We have a masternode guide PDF in Discord.

If you are running a normal wallet, you will need to replace your binaries. Do NOT delete your conf / block files, and especially not your wallet.dat. Remember it's always good practice to BACKUP your wallet.dat file!

Here are the downloads for the updated wallet!

Windows 64bit: https://github.com/curvecoin/curve/releases/download/v1.0.2/curvecoin-wallet-windows-64bit.zip

Ubuntu 16.04: https://github.com/curvecoin/curve/releases/download/v1.0.2/curvecoin-wallet-ubuntu16.04-64bit.zip

GitHub: https://github.com/curvecoin/curve/releases/tag/v1.0.2

(Ubuntu 14.04 binaries will be available on the release page)
