Hi,

Anyone else had sell limit orders below the spike today to 2082.958€  that should have been triggered when the price crossed but it didn't?

I had a couple sell limit orders at 19XX€, that I placed several days ago so it is not trading lag, that haven't been executed, yet the price raised to 2082€.

It's not the first time... It is the THIRD time I NOTICED this behaviour and the second one I open a support ticket for this. I am still waiting a single reply since more than one month about a buy limit order at 124X€ that should have been executed when, again, an spike got under that price.

I use to leave open high and low orders to take some profit from this spikes, but it looks like the profit is going to someone else, not me.... Also I have the concern that maybe there is some people that are being liquidated during those spikes and maybe they shouldn't if placed orders had been executed cushioning the spike or, at the very least, they would have been liquidated at a better price.

I can understand that during DDOS or heavy usage the trading gets some lag.... But I can't think any single reason for why the price would run freely without honoring orders correctly placed DAYS BEFORE!.

I would like to receive a compensation for my direct profit loss but, above all, I would like to know why this happenned and if it will keep happenning regularly.

If you can't even trust the order book of a TRADING EXCHANGE, what can you trust?

I had a limit sell order open as well in that price range. It is still open, despite a second spike having occurred at 17:16 CET and again my order did not get filled.

Another Spike and again not honoring the order book. WTF is happening with Kraken? Why don't they stop trading right now?

The Price at Kraken DID NEVER reach 2000€/BTC or higher yet.

These are bugs in trade engine or anything like that. That happens usually ~once a month, but in times like this it happens more often...

Nearly every exchange is unreliable at the moment.. also bitstamp has stuck orderbook quite often these days...

If it didn't reach that price why would Kraken site itself list it as the high price today? Were is it getting the data if not from its own trading engine?

Are you really sure no trades were executed at that high price after bypassing the entire order book?

Is there any place I can access a log of all trades executed?

So the conclusion is that it did in fact bypass the entire order book and do a trade at an extremely high price. So, what happens with the poor guy that was liquidated or bought at that price?

Let's see if when Dargo comes back he can do a technical explanation of how the logic of the code can just ignore the next following price/order in the order book and go on higher before executing the trade.

Maybe if he shares the source code we could not only understand how and  in what "exceptional" (?) circumstances it can happen but also contribute and fix it for once.

I have the exact same issue. I verified tier 1, 2 and 3 over 24h ago. Still only "processing" on all of them. I wanted to buy ICN for a couple thousand dollars yesterday around 0.90 USD and now it's up to 1.40 USD! Kind of painful haha

But since it seems that a lot of people are experiencing the verification process "issues" I wonder if there is any fix to it? Or has Kraken said something officially?

According to their "FAQ" it says Tier 1-2 usually take a few minutes to verify.

Yes, the spikes we are seeing right now are due to an issue with the trade engine. The spikes are low volume and due to small orders (or small parts of larger orders). It's not due to the logic of the code ignoring or skipping orders that it can see. It's rather due to the trade engine very briefly only seeing a few orders and as a result matching them out of context of the other orders. It's the first time I've heard of this particular issue, so I'm not sure how long it's been an issue, but the frequency of it right now is probably related to the current very high volume. We are working to mitigate the issue, but the permanent fix will probably come as @Serpens66 says with the new trade engine. The new trade engine is hopefully coming in a matter of weeks, but we don't have a specific ETA at this time.

Kraken is crazy? Today on a couple of broadcast/cue ball, there are wild buy air price rose to 7.8 cue for the broadcast. Orders in the glass is not fulfilled. Magic however.

Let's just say that not all transactions with such prices. However, order by the glass (my personal) at a price much less than these values had not been executed.

Sorry I'm not able to respond to every post, but I am still forwarding request numbers to support and asking them to escalate. Posting your request number here is best since support can get the number without waiting for me to forward it. You can also give me the request number by DM but it will likely take support longer to get it this way.

We are expanding the support team as rapidly as we can and doing other things to try to serve everyone as quickly as possible, but the entire crypto space is seeing incredible growth right now that is very difficult to keep up with.

Our USD payment provider for US residents recently updated their system and are having a technical issue with the update. They are working to fix as soon as possible, but currently this issue is creating problems for some US residents trying to transfer USD. This issue does not affect clients outside the US transferring USD or any other currency.

The spikes are annoying. I don't wish my orders to be executed if it means I'm getting screwed, or someone else is screwed, but would it be at least possible to hide them so that we're not seeing such weird charts ?
