It's your personal choice whether you trust them or not... Crypto is a risky world yet, you should only risk what you can afford to lose.

Do you work for Kraken?  Are you trying to shift the blame onto the customers away from Kraken?

Just because the crypto space is risky, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be critical of potential criminals.  Just because the stock market is risky, it doesn't mean that investors are more to blame than Enron, Worldcom and Bernie Madoff.

"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

Get together at Reddit.

I posted the following on Kraken's sub-reddit on June 9:

Quote
I wire transferred money to Kraken on May 24st. I did not hear from your site, so I posted a support request on June 1st.
I still did not hear from your site, so I posted another support request on June 6th.
I still did not hear from your site, so I posted another support request today.
Yesterday, I sent a direct message with my support ticket number to a user from Kraken on BitcoinTalk. I have not heard back from him so I'm posting this.
What is going on with Kraken? Does Kraken ignore all of its customers? Is it going to steal my money?

But as you can see from the link, Kraken removed my posting.

They're smelling more like a criminal every day.

I don't work for kraken and I'm not trying to shift any blame to customers... I just wanted to say everything can happen, just as you mentioned. They didn't steal your money...yet. If I will hear something else then "shiet they put my transfer on hold and not responding to any of my tickets" thing, I will have concerns. I don't remember they stole money from someone. Unprofessional? Yeah maybe they have issues, but not thieves, at least they didn't do anything like that as far as I know.

Devoiding any person of his rightful money for a period of time for which he could have earned potential profit INCURRING loss to that person.

And you kept his money and didn't compensate for your worst show of non-professionalism then its even worst than stealing.

If you don't have staff then do a favor to crypto world and close this shiit.

In time critical market not replying within 24hrs is criminality.

Oh my god. This is the very worst kind of customer support i experienced so far among exchanges. They put the money on hold, made me wait..., wait...., wait...., and again wait....
In 2 weeks, received only 3 general replies only with just excuses, explanations, and no solution. Holding my deposit of 4000€ for 2 weeks is really unacceptable. They just replied now that refund process will take 5 days to complete. There were already 2 'five days' gone in the past 2 weeks. How can they treat their own customers with such unfair trade practices.

This is notorious exchange in terms of customer support.

In fact there is no customer support.

One guy named Dargo will come here only to post useless replies.

Yes Agree... support really needs to sort itself out.... I have been waiting for my account to be unlocked for over 2 weeks now and no contact apart from 1 email apologising for the delay and that was 10 days ago.
Very frustrating having got XBT and a position I cannot cancel plus other coins I want to take offline and put in my wallet.... Please Kraken Support start contacting your customers and employ some more staff 2 weeks and no response is not a good way to treat your customers! Angry
Request 315876 please unlock account.

Isn't it possible for customers to file suit against them where it's registered for monetary compensation.

I also have a sad story about Kraken support to share.
My issues started on 6th of May when I initiated a withdrawal of EUR over SWIFT.
After several days I've checked with my bank and they said that the transaction has been stopped by intermediary bank (Commerzbank AG) because there was no accompanying reason for sending those euros.
So I opened a ticket request (#267043) on 12th of May to inquire about my withdrawal and have not received any reply since then.
None. Not one generic message, nothing, for over a month.
I have tried replying to my own ticket in hope that someone will reply, but nothing changed, no one replied.

Since then, my bank has informed me that the transaction has been declined and that my money has been returned to sender and status of my withdrawal on Kraken is still "Sending".

Their behaviour is the worst experience that I ever had with any kind of support.

If anyone here can help me resolve this issue with Kraken, please do Smiley

An open letter to Kraken:

Hi guys!

I've been your customer since day one. My first post in this topic is on page 5 Wink I waited patiently to be verified while you were getting your house in order back in September 2013. Was totally understanding that KYC & AML policies were important. Since no one wanted you to get your bank accounts frozen like some other exchanges that were careless about regulatory compliance.

Also, waiting a few days to get my ticket resolved wasn't that bad. You were understaffed and the trade volume was low, you were still burning start-up money since the fees couldn't possibly cover your costs.

So I loved your exchange, since it was the only one that allowed me to trade the LTC/EUR pair. Quick and cheap SEPA deposits/withdrawals also made my trading experience much better.

Fast forward to 2017. Your trading volume is amazing. Much higher than Bitstamp. That's right, you're bigger than Stamp now! It's way past time to start acting like it. I'm reading posts in this topic and I'm horrified. I also hear from people I know who have been waiting for WEEKS to get a response on the tickets they opened (on-hold deposits, verifications). So I know these posts here are not isolated cases. Frankly I'm surprised there aren't more of them. 24h is the absolute maximum a customer should wait for a response. There should be no need to bump ticket via social media.

The second thing is your website/API performance. Every single time there is a huge move on the market, you go limp. Servers are cheap. I know you're constantly upgrading, but not nearly enough. Also, seriously consider ditching CloudFlare.

I've been more or less a happy customer for the last 4 years, but I am starting to reconsider my options. I'm seriously worried that you may fail me and the support will be non existent.

Rightly said those who cannot reach for your query in time should NEVER be trusted with your money.

Sadly I have yet another tale to tell about Kraken support.  Until searching for an outlet for my frustrations I had no idea that this thread existed or that Kraken had caused problems to so many people.  I deposited a large sum of fiat (well into 5 figures) to my Kraken account by SWIFT transfer last week.  It arrived but it was put on hold so I opened a ticket to find out what happened (#359454).  On Monday I had a reply asking me why the sending account and Kraken accounts are in different names.  But they are both the same and I told them so.  Then Rei replied with this: "My apologies. I just noticed that was apart of your address. I will send this now to our payments team to release your transaction. They will be in touch.".  That last message was more than 48 hours ago.

So Kraken have admitted it was their error, but it is now more than two days later and I am still waiting for my funds to be released.  There is no phone number to call, and no online chat.  I have sent two further replies to the ticket, but to no avail.  If anybody from Kraken is monitoring this please help.  I know it is less than a week since the transfer arrived, and that is nothing compared to the experiences of some other unfortunates here, but I find it hard to accept any delay greater than 24 hours when Kraken admit to have made the error in the first place.
