ULTRANET introduces an open decentralized network infrastructure for publishing, distribution and delivery of any kind of software (apps, components, assets, etc.), including a new class of software that is designed to supersede web and conventional applications. We are building an open platform to avoid any patent infringement cases, profit-oriented evolution strategies, or promotion of proprietary software. It is completely free for users and also free (or as cheap as possible) for publishers. This technology can solve the problem of dApps relying on centralized websites or application stores that are vulnerable to DDOS attacks and censorship.

This is a prototype implementation of UOS and UMI technologies for enthusiasts and early adopters.
The major components of ULTRANET Software Delivery Network (SDN) – provides free and decentralized distribution and delivery of any kind of software and is implemented on top of an IPFS global swarm.
Distribution Management System (DMS) – a network infrastructure based on a new DLT technology that implements the Multi Chain Block Voting Protocol and is used to manage software distribution using a product registry, a unique name system, and an anti-malware protection service.
Anti-malware Protection Protocol (AMPP) – consists of several components that minimize the impact of malicious code on the whole ULTRANET ecosystem. It comprises a decentralized database of anti-malware analysis reports acting as a certification service, and also a real-time signaling network for the rapid broadcasting of recently identified threats.
Unified Operating Superstructure (UOS) – a platform-independent local system layer that provides a safe execution environment with a unified UI and exposes a standard API for UNA applications.
Unified Morphable Interface (UMI) – a concept of a unified UI for UNA applications that is able to adapt a platform independent virtual user environment to desktop, mobile, and VR devices, and to leverage the full power of local hardware.
TokenomyULTRANET economy is based on a single native token called UNT. Its usage includes the following:
• Transaction fees that are earned by block generators
• A block generator bail that is used for priority ordering
• Punishing of malicious behavior of block generators and transaction senders
• Author unique name registration.
The UNT emission is done by transferring ETH tokens from the Ethereum network to UNT tokens in the ULTRANET network at a particular ratio. ETH is not collected by issuing smart-contract and burned forever, so this approach works in a way that differs from traditional ICOs.
A credited amount of UNT is calculated using the following formula: UNT = ETH * Factor.
In the beginning, the Factor=1,000, which means that 1 ETH emits 1,000 UNT.
After each 10,000 ETH spent, the Factor is decreased by 0.1 until it reaches 1, when 1 ETH emits 1 UNT; and after that, the emission is over.
In this way, ~10 million ETH will be burned to emit ~5 billion UNT.
The ULTRANET Test0 network uses the Ethereum Ropsten test network as a source of UNT emission. Test0 tokens will not be listed on any exchanges and are intended solely for testing purposes.

Freedom
• It is not possible to ban a particular publisher or application as it does not rely on a specific DNS record or IP address.
• Even publishers have no power to restrict users from using older versions if users are not satisfied with the latest ones.
• Utilizing various dApp platforms as the application server-side (back-end) and ULTRANET as the application client-side (front-end) gives rise to an ecosystem that is invulnerable to DDOS attacks. Moreover, ULTRANET proposes a special protocol that is capable of actively shutting down any botnet that participates in such types of attack.
Performance
• The performance of the MBV protocol is more than enough for current and any future needs, so no special effort will be required when the network reaches a global scale.
• Global unique identifiers of shared software ensure that downloading the same files more than once is avoided, thus minimizing Time-to-Interactive (TTI) and overall Internet traffic.
• Users no longer need to have locally installed antivirus software sacrificing the performance of their hardware.
Opportunities
• Various specialized software stores can be built on top of ULTRANET.
• The technology provides a unified mechanism for updating applications so that no special development efforts are required to support auto-updating.
• UOS has the potential to create applications that work on various currently binary-incompatible Linux distributions, which will give a new lease of life to the open-source community.
• SDN + DMS = Global Software Registry as a unified replacement for various package/component/library databases – not just for a code.
• Using anti-malware companies’ specialized infrastructure makes it possible to perform a much deeper (AI) and more comprehensive analysis of application code.
• Together with distributed file systems (cloud, Chia, Sia, Swarm, Storj, etc.), the technology enables server-less thin clients. In this case, both the applications and user data are stored remotely in a decentralized manner. Once a user is authorized by such a system and their profile is loaded, all the required applications and related data are downloaded to a local device for follow-up.
