01. Most Painful Cry Cry
When I realize that if I listened to my friend I've got a lot of bitcoins now but I didn't so there's too much time and money that was wasted but this is life. I doubted in bitcoin before so this is what I get but still I've learned from that mistake.

02. Happiest Grin Grin
When bitcoin is recovering. Grin

Appreciate your reply to newcomers for cryptocurrency industry
it was a time when I was having a divorce (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2626877.msg26732261#msg26732261) .. and I lost all my investments, plus I had a loan to zazarb ,, when the world was crushed ,, and now I am able to rise again, even though my loan to zazarb has not paid off ,, and I am very grateful to zazarb, for giving me tolerance

1) The most painful / critical part of my crypto moment is when I never bought when bitcoin is around $6,000 and I never sold at $20,000 that was a very disgusting situation.
2) Happiest moment when I remain calm and hold some of my bitcoins and never bought nor joined the panic club.

of course the most painful ones was the recent market correction and the happiest moment could be that one selling at ATH of bitcoin early this year.
this is just facts that cryptocurrency is really volatile and not just hold on sell kind of investment, we really need to understand the overall market before entering it.

First, you should consider moving this topic to Bitcoin Discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.0

Regarding your topic, I've really got two critical moments:

First, I gave a loan to an old co-worker back in 2010, and when he paid me back (late 2011), he also emailed me a private key to a bitcoin address with around $1,000 worth of Bitcoin that he gave me as a "bonus interest payment" for my loan. I had no idea what Bitcoin was at the time, so I didn't think anything of it. But when the first spike happened, I remembered that he had sent me the bitcoin, so I went to retrieve the email only to find that my email address had been purged because I no longer worked for the company. I contacted my friend to see if he had a copy of the sent email, and his email address was also purged after having left the company. I contacted some acquaintances in the IT department of the company, and because of a recent merger, they changed the way that they handled the email domains, and permanently purged all email addresses of employees that no longer work at the company. So yeah, I lost out on millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin.

Secondly, I sold my Nano (formerly RaiBlocks) last year at $0.05 each. I made a pretty profit on the deal for the 150,000+ XRB that I paid "miners" to claim. Well, in January, the 150K+ XRB was worth over $5m USD. The worst part is that I went against my golden rule of hodling any cryto that I believe in and that I find has a good value and base of service. The only solace I find in this whole situation is that given the recent hack on BitGrail, I would probably have been one of the ones affected by it anyways Tongue

Moral of the story? HODL HODL HODL lol
Thanks for sharing your stories, that is painful but at the same time very illustrative, we need to take care of our coins and that is something I have tried to do since I got in crypto, I only invested in an ico once and the price dropped almost 75% in a month but I kept holding and after sometime we are back at the original price, I was about to sell but after reading the forum I realized it will be a bad idea, so if it was not because of honest posters like you I would have lost most of my investment.

I believe the most critical moments in cryptocurrency and Bitcoin history is during its early stage, how masses will adopt the decentralized concept of Bitcoin, aside from that another critical moment is the time when Bitcoin is doing its Hardforks.  While the happiest moment is when we see Bitcoin being bullish and steadily breaking its ATH again and again.  Fluctuation and crashes is normal.  But I believe those I stated were really the most critical time of Bitcoin.

Oh my!,  stories here are quite touching. Some people have really loss and this because we all aren't paying any attention to how important bitcoin was then.

For me the most painful moment; was when I rejected some bitcoins gift when it was worth #600 then. The person that was giving it to me then was trying to make me  see reasons on how important it is but I refused. I later realized its importance and begged the perosn for it but he declined saying I had my chances once. I guess I was foolish then.

The happiest moment; was when bitcoin hit 20k i was able to make some gain cause I got mine when it was 4k-5k.

01. Most Painful moment of myself was selling half of my bitcoin holding in the 2016 when the price was pumping not knowing that I will earn more profit if could hold till the next year.
02. Happiest moment of my life is that I was jobless and financial unstable when I know Bitcoin but I'm now financial stable.

Selling your coins at the wrong time can be one of the worst mistake that you can do in bitcoin, can you imagine what they are feeling those that sold at the beginning of the last year when they sold thinking the price was going to go down again and they could buy bitcoin cheap again, that never happened and if they did not bought bitcoin during the growth now they are forced to pay a huge amount of money for better bitcoin if instead they just kept holding they could have made a fortune.

First most painful moment with cryptocurrency is when my tokens got stolen. My etherwallet was hacked and nothing was left for me. My happiest moment is the first time I receive tokens and eventually cash it out and use it for payment of ny bills, paid a lot of debts and buy something as memorabilia.

1. My most painful moment was when I didn't sale an altcoin when it reached BTC2.86+, which I bought with only BTC0.00475.
Later, my pain doubled when Bitcoin reached $19k+. So that's $54k+ I've lost and now the total value is around $630.  Cry

2. I was very happy when Bitcoin price reached $19k+. My portfolio was awesome  Grin

01. Most Painful Cry Cry
When I was newbie I have some bitcoin from giveaway, but I wasted my bitcoin because I guess bitcoin just a moment, bitcoin will died in a few years a head. So, I sell all bitcoin that have without leaving a single bit and time passed it turns out bitcoin price increasingly and I just watching I don't have anything that is very sad.
02. Happiest Grin Grin
With my experience before, I am getting excited about getting bitcoin and I intend never to sell it until it reaches the price I want, and by 2017 I sold bitcoin at a price of $18,000, at least treating my previous regret.

The most critical moment for me was when BTC fell to $5000, I was actually afraid that the end had come especially when some guys in this forum quoted Satoshi as saying that after sometime, BTC will either worth a fortune or nothing. On the other hand, my happiest moment was when I learnt about this forum and how I can contribute and to New projects via promotion as ICO investment. It was a whole new thing entirely.
