Bitcoin is the first crypto currency to be the parent of the other coin coin so it is very influential to the success of Altcoin. Altcoin's success is determined by Bitcoin because they can not handle it.

Does Bitcoin's price decrease and increase make the other Altcoin price decrease and increase? When the Bitcoin decreases, the other coins are reduced by the price. While the price of bitcoin increases, most coins increase. What's the reason for this?

this depends, there are times when the price of bitcoin goes up a lot, the prices of altcoins fall a lot and the reason for this is because the people who have altcoin sell their altcoins to buy bitcoin when the price of bitcoin is too high... and there are times that bitcoin falls and the altcoins also fall because of some bad news, for example: " if the news channels said that japan is going to ban bitcoin "bitcoin and all altcoin they fell, but if they said that" "European Union will legalize bitcoin" the price of bitcon would rise a lot and the altcoin fell a lot.

yes bitcoins price can affect the prices of some altcoins, because in some markets and trading sites use bitcoin to buy altcoins so the demand of bitcoin is increase it price also will increase, if they sell it out the token will go back to the circulation as well as the bitcoin so the stocks of tokens increase because of the selling the price of alts and bitcoin will decrease, but in the case of bitcoin many people hold bitcoin thats why if the price decreases but not that crash.

Most likely the reason for this may be robots that trade on exchanges and their algorithm is based on the Bitcoin's price.

yes, because bitcoin is a barometer and a crypto king, but I think when bitcoin goes down, not all altcoin also come down. only altcoins that have good growth can survive.

Good altcoin will go down, but only a few percent. may rise and also stable. but unlike the altcoin that has no plans, it will drop dramatically.

this is a natural trend for any investment - Bitcoin is right now more of an asset and people are investing it, so, Bitcoin, as an asset, can go highs and lows - its natural.

We normally see most altcoin price drops when Bitcoin price drops, because exchanges use Bitcoin as their reserve currency, and if you look at the price of most altcoins the price is not really the equivalent to us dollar or fiat but it is based on the equivalent value in Bitcoin so whenever Bitcoin price drops it is likely that most altcoin will follow especially those in top ranking in market capitalization which is supported of most cryptocurrency exchange. But it doesn't mean that the movement will always like that, there are times that Bitcoin drops and some altcoin are pumping because there are people who sell their Bitcoins to buy those altcoins.

Somehow bitcoin price increase because its being bought by the altcoins held by traders, once they trade if with bitcoin it then means the demand of BTC rises and so is its price. Most of the time I think its USDT that is being used to buy BTC though, they prefer the coin that will hold a consistent value so there will be lesser loss.

Yes, I think the price of most altcoins will go up and down with bitcoin, and bitcoin has a great influence on other altcoins, which is the king of all altcoins.

Hi,

You are right, it should not be this way. If you think in terms of offer and demand, the rise of bitcoin should trigger of the decrease of other cryptos.

What I think is that most people change bitcoin for fiat currencies. So most exchanges actually happen between 1 crypto and 1 fiat currency. Therefore, the law of offer and demand does not apply.

This is not true, other altcoin prices are not dependent on bitcoin pricing. That all crypto depends on supply and demand, as bitcoin prices drop, but there are some other altcoin price increases, they do not discount by bitcoin. Conversely, when bitcoin increases, some altcoin discount. I think the altcoin price depends on the trust of investors. Bitcoin does not determine the price of other altcoins.

At first I used to think that the systems works inverse to one another now I am beginning to believe they work in relation with one another. However, I also believe that relationship is always subject to change, mainly due to whatever the whales are up to.

BTC is the father of cryptocurrencies fluctuation is common in BTC.early in 2018 fluctuations was at climax, even on 6th Feb-18 BTC went down to $6000 because there were some unfavorable news like regularization, some bank barred customers not to use credit cards for BTC trading, facebook ban crypto ads,so these news induced some king of despair in many investors,as a result of which investment were withdrew from BTC,which declined its cost. However after green signals from South Korea,US Senate Hearing,Japan will also create its own cryptocurrency,Bread wallet Switzerland based crypto exchange, started accepting international BTC purchasing through credit cards, these news made BTC price somewhat stable between $8000-$8700 for last 5-6 days.BTC price affect the whole crypto prices.

Yes of course Bitcoin's price decrease or increase will affect the others because Bitcoin is the one that represented for the crypto currency market. Decreasing the price means people are losing their trust on Bitcoin and the cryptos. So it means they will withdraw their money in others altcoins too.

This proves that success of altcoins depend on bitcoin, and they will never be able to overcome it.

I mean that couldn't be farther from the truth because during the altcoin ruin up, right before and after the BTC run up. Bitcoin went up maybe 4x at the top of the line, but all of those other altcoins they went up an insane amount some went up 1000x and things along those lines. These other coins went up crazily, a lot more then bitcoin did..

Altcoins fluctuate with bitcoin, but not with the same amount of volatility as altcoins WILL ALWAYS have more volatility.
Agree with you. Altcoins, in my opinion, can always be more volatile due to far less popularity with common public and even less predictability of short/long-term gains from them.
There are too many of altcoins in the market, sometimes it's even hard to grasp the difference between them.
