It's an interesting idea. It seems that it is very similar to what exchanges do via Margin Lending; correct? Also, I assume that the bitcoin that is transferred out (mortgaged, if you will) will be held on a smart contract until the lender is renumerated at the agreed time. If the lendee doesn't return the borrowed fiat then the lender keeps the bitcoin that was stored on the smart contract. This protects both parties.
