My third one is STRAT. Great platform coin. From big exchanges, you can buy STRAT now because STRAT is just warming up.
Coins can go 10% lover but once downtrend is over it will go at least 50-60% up. This is my idea of course...

Any ideas what to buy now and keep for longer?

If you want long term holding then i would suggest to go for the coins which are in the top 20 and the price is below a dollar because my thinking is that these coins appreciate later in time just don't know when. If you buy less than a dollar and in 3 year it will priced at 5 dollars so there is profit.

I know what that means. if you want to make a long-term investment look for a reliable coin and you can find it in top marketcap. do not try to invest long-term on altcoin that has not been proven reliable. because you should know that altcoins have a short life span.
My first suggestion is to choose bitcoin for long-term investments. everyone knows its potential. then Ethereum and three ripple.

My suggestion is BTC, ETH. Why? Both of them is the coin with a good potential, we know BTC is number 1 in Coinmarketcap and ETH almost number 2 in Coinmarketcap. People know crypto from BTC I think, and a lot of token use ETH for their platform. Thats my reason. And the other altcoins maybe you can also invest on ETC, LTC, Waves, XRP, NEM, NEO maybe STR.

one of the great ideas, I think, buy Ethereum and hold, hold, hold, and then sell at a bargain price.

if you want to buy some alt and you want it to keep longer then i suggest to learn first some technical analysis in the market bro so that you know which coin is the best to hold in long term , and the most important is the team behind the project if its good or not to ensure that you're not wasting your money and time on it.  Make some research first so that you know how to pick the good one .

I think for long term investations i will choise one of all is BTC, second ETH and the last BCH.
Investations importain with money, lot of money i prefere with BTC and ETH

diversify investment with half Ethereum and half altcoins , I believe etc has more potential in the long run than btc

For the long term I am more confident in ethereum and NEO, although sometimes I also hold my bitcoin even in the not too distant future. The reason I choose that coin is because I believe coin coins will be more famous in the future so demand will increase.

Consider BTC as an evergreen coin which can be invested any time whenever the market falls . Also along with this even their are few altcoins which if bought now could also help you to build a good portfolio for 2018 and you will not be just depended on btc alone. For long term? Of course bitcoin and ETH. I'm keeping a few alts I consider worth keeping for long term. Peculium and Universa Im keeping an eye. Still cheap and hava a steady pace. New ICOs I consider investing like my signature here. Morpheus.

well there are alot of solid projects in the top 100 that are strong long term holds, but in my opinion I would rather hold a coin that is Proof of Stake or has masternodes to be constantly making a return...

dash is the best example of a successful masternode project but there are many many more
