That's true that some people ruined it by dumping but you should consider the benefit of Airdrop. Airdrop is an easy way to spread a crypto among the crowd.

I agree on your atatement that sometimes they ruin it by dumping. However I dont agree that airdrops should be banned. It is an easyw ay of having coins and also easy way in participating in crowdsales. If you remove airdrop, less people would be interested in ICOs especially so those who have to capacity to buy coins.

If the airdrops will be banned, it is hard for the project to spread out since airdrops help to boost a certain project. Yet, the people are just making it as their quick profit, we don't deny that they also did their task to get airdrops. Afterall, airdrop is not anymore free but the people are sharing the word of the company just to receive airdrops. Airdrops must not be eliminated. It is needed by the project to become successful!

I partly agree. However, if one project will include the buyers of the tokens in the airdrop then I think there would never be a problem. We all know that airdrop is now being used as a marketing strategy to generate awareness for the program as well as to build a sizable community which can be critical especially after the ICO phase of the project. As in anything in life, there will always be advantages and disadvantages and it is all up to the project's team to manage and balance all the issues and concerns. As for me, I would not be complaining to be receiving some airdrops from time to time.

The real value of a crypto comes ONLY from its adoption and use, and its development potential as a crypto fine-tech.

Speculator investors pushing prices up, and/or hype from media/airdrops/bounties/ and other promotion are only secondary in the longer term IMO.

I'm going all out on LTC/XLM/EOS/NEO/OMG/Waves/AST/ETH now, after having collected profits from my other altcoins.

I know what you feel but that's how the cycle of projects, ICO and token distributions are happening. It's like a gamble and those who have earned airdrops, rewards/bounties are earning through their simply tasks. You can't ban airdrops easily as there's no international rule that's disallowing them to held their ICO's, minimizing them can be a good idea but how would you minimize them? Day by day there are even more than 30 ICO's that are coming out from nowhere.

Yes,, it is a way to spread crypto. But the problem is that people who enter the crypto world no longer think
of putting in money to add value. But rather to get FREE profit. That is going to be a problem in the long run.

As long as it is a legit coins, even if some people you get their coins from airdrops dumps it all, it will still recover after several days if the coin is really good.

A Airdrop is a good thing, if it was funded by the developer of the coin and not funded by some pre-mine. The pre-mine is just an excuse to give free money to the developer and his/her buddies. I am also not a big fan of the free coins that are awarded to people when there is a fork. <like BCash / Bitcoin Gold>, because I am a strong believer that people have to work for their money.

Take Ehtereum for example : There was a pre-mine and most of those coins went to the developers and the founders.

Airdrops are great for new coins starting out. Free advertisement, gets there name out there and creates a spread in the community. Maybe even helping reduce pump and dump.
