I joined before the merit system was introduced and have got all merit points from members. It feels really nice that I achieved this in short time. I gained the merit points earlier only and was stuck mainly because of activity. I really that all the senior members who noticed my posts and gave me the merits. I also encourage new members not to give up. Reaching the member level is not that hard. If you make those 60 posts with more effort, you will get more than 10 merits for sure.

Congratulations! Yes, it seems that acquiring 10 merit points required for ranking up to Member is not too difficult and is achievable before getting necessary activity points. As for higher ranks, we'll see...

Congratulations! Smiley I know it feels refreshing to have "earned" all those Merits.
Merit system is just that, i.e setting the right incentives for people to improve their writing quality.
I'm also on my way to become a Member, hopefuly soon!

I think nowadays very difficult to rank mamber after the merit
to get a merit we must make a constructive post, and since then many post very good but very in pity none of the merit they can
too many people who think to appreciate other people's posts

It is not that hard but you have to take care of simple things. For instance, see how properly formatted your post is. This irritates the reader and he might not give a merit even if you have made a good post.

nullius could only accumulate those 10 merits in a single post maybe in a half post.
Try to look at this user you might learn something in terms of constructing statement, just ignore flaming for a while but I guess that's where he become so phenomenal.

P.S Giving up is only for person who does not know how to become successful. Just get away from thread that will likely turn out to be scam and you're good to go. Congrats.

Congrats on your achievement. This is a solid fact that if a person is worthy of merits, he will surely get it, no matter what rank he is. I can say it out loud that low rank members like newbie and jr.member can get merits, and they can get it all over the board in this forum, not only on a specific forum, because i already break the QuestionAuthority's merit activity into statistics that i post on my thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2947171.msg30272338#msg30272338
So for newbie and jr.member, dont be afraid, 10 merits is achievable, we have some fact here, plus my statistic also told so.

Nullius is an extraordinary man/woman/bot  Grin , the way he posts is great and with some humor and flaming here and there, he/she/it Grin can easily attract people's mind, that is why he/she/it Grin is getting a lot of merits, But i guess not all people can be him/her/it Grin, and every person has their unique way to post, so i guess it is better to improve your own posting style.

Congratulations that you made it. It is not an easy thing to get that merit. Though i have not read your merited post because of time constraint but i do believe it is a deserving one for merit. I hope to follow your fate soon.

It is a great achievement to become even a member rank after the merit system. But still the task is not fininshed we still have ranks upto legendary so you need to work more harder even to rank upto the higher rank.
But sadly the new merit system slowed the ranking up it is a good way to stop the farmed accounts, but not all the good posts are not rewarded with merits. For me I have two weeks left to become to senior member with activity but now I have to earn 140 more merits to reach that rank.I hope it needs atleast half year to attain this even with HQ posts.

You are right about this completely. 10 merit points are not that hard to get with 60 activity. But getting 140 merit points will take a lot of time. This merit system has made it hard for the members to rank up but was needed for the forum because:

1) If the forum is full of crap, we will see advertisers moving away from here. The members will be affected most so priority should be improving the forum.

2) The merit system gives a lot of power in hands of existing members as they can choose to award merits. Reduces the work load of moderators.

Glad to see a member like you who is motivated by a certain circumstance that dismayed many. Thank you for being a living proof that even as a newbie in this forum, if you give an effort with what you do, you can get through the obstacles confidently and earn the merits that you deserve to rank up. I know ranking up should be the least of anyone's concern but I remember being an excited newbie awaiting to rank up to prove my capabilities and credibility. May your story continue to inspire others to not give up as hard work would not go unnoticed in this forum! Kudos to you and may you continue to spread the positivity in this forum. Smiley
