participating in ICO means that you believe in the project not just a flop when hitting exchanges.. people should put out in their mind that in ICo youll get immediate profit.. for me, participation in ICo means your investing for a long term

There are many people who want to give up ICOs, not just you. By the fact that besides good projects there are still scam projects ICO. Should not we always join the ICO as well. Depending on the case and know the project options that involve and invest.

I think I got your point  all about
Interest
Volume
Value
Investors
Profits
Loses
And chance to lambo

Too risky but keep the fire burning to invest. However, there are things we encounter along the way that against us. Still keep the fire burning and change your strategy while you have a chance to turn it on another way that will be your next journey.

Very informative read and for the most part I side with everything you say.
The problem with ICOs is that they will prob never go away, so the crypto community as a whole is going to continue to make aware which ICOs are legit and which are clearly scams.

I respect and understand your points as to why you are quitting ICO, all these are valid points but personally I am looking at it the other way around, I am interested in investing on ICOs nowadays. I am still in the researching phase, knowing more about it, but I know that I can also gain good returns from investing on them. I am willing to face the risks so hopefully, all will be good for me.

i do not stop from ico, but i just be careful in choosing ico. Today many projects are doing ico so the chances of success of ico is getting smaller.

We should just understand each other here and I know it is not easy for us to do and invest in ICO especially when we are continually victim of a scam, that is why it is so important to know the ICO well before putting our hard earned money on it.

I agree with each word! ICO as an investment direction is ineffective at the moment -with very rare exceptions. In my opinion, it is much more interesting to invest in the top 10 crypto-currencies.

it's kind of a gamble, Sometimes you loose and sometimes you win, this investment is risky. now There are many ICO's and most dependent when they complete the sale. Sometimes people just buy and sell without researching what will happen next, not taking into account the bad things will happen.

Since I have no money to invest in any ICOs, nor have money to buy several altcoins, then might as well join campaigns that will give me altcoins without the hassles of thinking about the current trends in the market.

ICO's are not participated unless people see ICO's only as means of making money. There is no chance everyone will make money at the same time.

Whether you quit it or not, that'd be your decision but to clear some things out, investing to ICOs is like gambling because there's no assurance of earning profit no matter how good a platform is (of the ICO project). The reason behind this is the market volatility. So it goes as some will be profitable and some are not. But overall, ICOs are really profitable.

I decided to quit ICO's.

  • too many ICO's without distinctive differences.

I think that's the main reason why most ICOs nowadays resemble scam.. There are so many alike projects dealing with the same problem that their value diminishes proportionally to their number.
The most popular theme now is increasing the scalability of blockchain, but when there are like ten project involved in that, it is hard to choose the best and most prospective one.

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley

Yeah, I also get annoyed when all those people start flooding mix up important information.
The activeness of admins of Telegram groups is another indicator of the project's "seriousness", you are right.

For me quitting investing in ico is okay if you are loosing a big amount of money because finding a great ico is really hard to do because now there are so many ico, and not all of those ico is becoming successful so to quit in ico is okay, but you should not quit supporting cryptocurrency.

I decided to quit ICO's. From December till now I invested about 5 eth into several ICO's. Invest what you can miss, this is what was able to miss.

Right now the first few of my ICO's have reached the exchanges. Most are under performing, but this is related to the overall dip (can be read everywhere). I understand, but ICO token economics have changed also.

  • massive hardcaps
  • most is sold in pre-sale to big investors, leaving scraps for crowdsale
  • much attention to marketing, less to working product or realistic time lines
  • immediately available on EtherDelta and IDEX, sure sign of little interest in token economics/future
  • no lock on pre-sale tokens, whales take their x2, x3 or x-whatever as soon as possible (I would probably have done the same). Prices drop to below ICO price.
  • too many ICO's without distinctive differences.
  • too many ICO's in general
  • too much tokens reserved for team/marketing
  • many ICO's don't even have a crowdsale anymore (which perhaps is a good thing as the little investors are protected this way)
  • ICO prizes are quite high. 1eth = 1000/4000 tokens is pretty common, but with a hc of 40 million, this will not easily go x10 or more.

I was 'unlucky' to miss out on a few ICO's besides the ones I was able to participate in. Afterwards I am glad, since I was able to pick most up at a fraction of the ICO price.

Important as ever: DYOR as not all ICO's have a genuine solution to a genuine problem. Some may seem like a fantastic solution, but often it is marketing combined with a strong team, and not so much a great working product.

And who am I? I am definitely a nobody Tongue, but still wanted to share my experiences and perhaps save people from thinking of getting on board of the next x100 ICO Smiley

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley
My friend if you level up now you consider yourself as a losser. So don't give up and be positive always because soon you will be successful with god's grace.

there are many reasons why people stop from ico. they feel less interested in ico because they have a lot of loss and also have many cases of fraud against an ico. trust becomes down

I also stopped to deal with the ICOs. As for me, trading is something that gives me more profits. it is also not so risky, especially when you know the trading tips.

Try to invest in those ICOs which have a major community which have a lot of people discussing the project on each of their social media and on their thread. So the exchanges when will get the application will see that it has a bigger community or lesser.

There are lots of ICO's who were legit and a lot who were not too, so we just need to figure out the right one and which is not, if we are in doubt and don't know what we are doing we can ask with our friend or to the seniors here if a certain ICO is legit or not. Don't just quit, ICO's are good investment just make sure with the ICO that your are investing at.
