I had my Monero in my wallet at the time of the snapshot.

I transferred my Monero to another account
Downloaded the MoneroV wallet, pointed it to the Monero wallet key where I had my monero
Synced the wallet

Shows zero monero V

Tried to close and reopen the wallet again pointing it to the Monero wallet key, still nothing.

could you give choice to online wallet ? cause it fork from monero the block was big, too long to sync if use offline wallet 😭
So... my wallet sync slowed to a crawl today. I was getting 5-7 mbps, which was already slow. Now I'm lucky to get 1 mbps. This is just painful.  Sad

People like me and xoplo82 would probably benefit from remote nodes.

I will still attempt to download the full MoneroV blockchain, of course. It will just be a long time before I can use it, unfortunately.

A fastsync download has been posted on reddit, you can torrent the blockchain from there: https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroV/comments/8ipph3/monerov_blockchain_download_485gb_compressed_to/

That took me about 3 hours to download. Pretty fast when you compare it with the 3 or so days the node takes to sync up on its own.

I used the gui wallet and a private node --daemon-address 5.199.161.136:9538  I was synced in about 1 hour.

You're not actually downloading the blockchain, you're using somebody else's. The 'sync' that you experienced was just your client querying the daemon at the given IP address to check if there were any transactions for your wallet in all of the blocks (and downloading a few block headers).

I am using the windows version, however the Monero blockchain (and therefore the MoneroV blockchain) is the same over multiple OSes meaning that you can download the fastsync torrent and it will work for you on Linux.

fully synced, imported old wallet keys

i see 1:1 balance not 1:10 balance

anyone got this problem?
anyone got 1:10, which method?
;
thanks

Had the same issue yesterday. At first i opened the old monero wallet with moneroV gui - wrong.
Then I created a new moneroV wallet using seed from monero - wrong (got x1 balance).

Today in the morning I succeded in getting x10 balance! Halilluya!

The story of my success - i exported keys from the monero wallet to txt file (dont forget to copy your address 4.... too).
I deleted monero and moneroV daemon files from c:\ProgramData\monerov and C:\PrpgramData\bitmonero)
I downloaded MoneroV gui again from the scratch to the new folder. Then I chose restore from keys option when opening the wallet.
Success!
Aslo i used famouse monerov node to speed up the process.

The balance isnt shown till the end of scan, but you can always check monerov-wallet-gui.log file. If the transactions are x10 there - everything goes right!

OK daily trading volume already 11 btc which is nice for a new coin focusing on dev, not marketing.
Now, the price being only 1.5$ right now i believe is a great time to 2-3x by the time hitbtc lists this.

Hopefully, we will be getting more good news about the network as well soon!

Duh!  You think I don't know that?  No different that the same concept of using any electrum wallet.

Official HitBTC subreddit is credible enough, my sources speculate on the date.
