Found this on Cryptocointalk (announced 2nd Sept) https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1132-netcoin-net-launched-today/NetCoin (NET) - a fork of Litecoin that combines the random superblocks. Net coin is the coin for spending on the internet... Hmm...
My first question is: Are you gonna abandon your coin after a while?
The second is: What are your intentions for promoting the coin?

People can make their bitcointalk.org Avatar into a NetCoin avatar. You can link to this image, in your FORUM PROFILE INFORMATION, to make your avatar a Net_Coin avatar: Just copy and paste that link into the 'I HAVE MY OWN PIC' radio button text box, and your avatar should be a Net_Coin Avatar. Or you can just copy this image and upload it as your own, rather than linking to my avatar, and this might be a better choice.

Dude its just not this coin, its like every coin there. Some people who had large balances are making bank ... those of us that mine and trade day to day are left holding the bag. On a positive note, your coins "might" show up at one point... the next day or a week from now who knows there anymore.

I am testing out a new Netcoin Pool. Internal testing has went well and I would appreciate some hashes to fully vet the system. I am migrating it form a LTC pool, so ignore any LTC references. Features: * Var Diff * Stratum * Proportional Payout http://ltc.icalcul8.com (will work temporarily while it is being deleted from the DNS) http://net.icalcul8.com (will work soon when the DNS catches up) Please check it out and PM any comments. I will start a thread soon. Thanks! NET: n7wf5vyCfKiQ8Hd6z3eKp2a5NH3opZcj8t

Hi There,
As a dedicated miner of Netcoin I just wanted to share my experience with everyone:
I join net.smalltimeminer.com for two weeks and what a big mistake it was. Based on their pool hashrate they are supposed to find twice as many blocks as they actually do. Unfortunately MPOS software is setup to only show the last 20 ~ 25 block times so its hard to extrapolate and I dont trust the 24hour count on there. I was kind of curious as to why I see my RIG should be able to mine about 1200 coins avg (during that particular difficulty) in a 24hour avg (50 coins/hour) and it made max HALF of that. I repeated this test over and over and it was always around 50% return rate. The difficulty is very volatile on Netcoin which makes it hard to calculate but I have done it many times over 1 hour periods and it is consistently 50% of my hasrate. So here I call out the owner of net.smalltimeminer.com to explain where the other 50% of coins (about $7,500 worth daily) are going??
Then I joined bitcoop.tk and I am getting about twice as many coins as before. I am actually surprised to see how fast I get coins coming through.
Anyway, I dont know either of these websites or the owners of them but I just wanted to test my suspicion of pool owners and there it was. Big thefts are going on here in the pools. At least a site like multipool.us steals maybe only 30% of my coins. But 50% is AWEFUL.
Again, the cryptocurrency is a no-man-land so people do whatever they want, steal, hack, lie but this one is absurd.
With all that said, we had a nice pop on Netcoin last week which is starting to fall fast. This coin has great potential with one of the highest trade volumes on Cryptsy and planning on halving in 60 days so if you own it, I recommend you hold on to it for at least 60 days and see what happens. Close your open orders and mine. This has great potential, specially because of no-premine and short name and its prestigeous .org foundation they set up.

Sorry your experience was so terrible, I don't remember you contacting me if you were having issues, I get back to everyone eventually You probably didn't bother to look under the round stats, you can see where every last cent goes for the blocks we find, and the ones we don't are listed on any netcoin block explorer, what's your point? Just trying to plug your pool? I've already suspended registrations to help spread the network hash rate out. Maybe that will help you.

Who is he? Admin is on vacation for the moment... Ps. I think someone wants some cheap Netcoins!! Ill buy for sure if it would go down because of your HUGE RED FONT, but that ain't gonna happen. Why do you even care about people hold Netcoins!?? Can't you just let them hold it if they want to? Something is very fishy here for sure... Anyway, the chines are dominating the Netcoinmarket, if you want the price to drop, go and annoy people in the chines forums.

I also unlocked the thread on another pool on our site ( http://forum.netcoinfoundation.org/) 2 days ago due to the owner wanting to reopen. No "cock measuring" required, as I said if you really want a pool you should advertise it on the actual NET forums not a thread here. Your success depends on our user there seeing it, as this site is just how we spread the word and will likely not get you enough hash to profit. If you truly are all about love and advancing cryptos, then together with our community we will see great progress.

Netcoin pools - netsmalltimeminer: Setting automatically too high diff for my miners = they dont send enough shares until block changes = poor hashrate (less than 70 percent of real hashrate) => not profitable - dedicatedpool: Strange efficiency of the pool last day => not profitable (probably ddos or lagspikes due to overload) Trying to find another one

No scam here. Netcoin is a great stable coin with a big supporting community. It's not over-hyped by pop culture and has a long term vision. Netcoin is here for the long run not for the quick gains.

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share the best pool I have found here that doesnt take 50% of your mining power in fees and claim 1% fee like most pools. Its called www. bitcoop. t k I am in no way shape or form associated with them.
With the halfing of this coin coming up in 40 days or so, this is the right time to start accumulating ahead of the spike without worrying about it getting cut in half overnight like MOON would. Very stable coin so far with great community support and nice foundation backing it up. Unlike MOON and most others this has had no premine, no forked chains and is a pretty stable coin. I can actually see this becoming the main coin for internet transactions as it is intended.

Looks like NETCOIN is ready to be invested in. Check eBay sales to see what this is worth. Packages for 100 and 500 coins are selling for $20 that is 4 times what its worth. I am moving most of my BTC and LTC into NET today as it dipped below 1400 Satoshi for the first time. So this is primed to get in now.
I am expecting a 50% profit at min up to 2100 Satoshi by a few days before it halves in 30 days. Remember this coin was trading around 4000 Satoshi in January.
It also hit #1 coin on coinwarz in the past few days including today yielding the highest profit in Scrypt coins.

Any idea of coin distribution, how much do the 10 or 100 biggest wallets own? I suspect they own a lot, which would make people less likely to want to get involved at this stage anymore. Just look at quark, it's not moving anywhere until the early holders dump it to the bottom.

rewarding the early comers is a flaw in our fiat society, those who bought acres and acres of land 90 years ago (or simply took it over because no one was there) are now rewarded with billion times profit and now the new kids are born to a world where every square inch of land is chopped up and owned by some entity. Unfair advantage. Satoshi took that screw our children concept and created bitcoin. Now there is no way out because no one can write a single piece pf code to change anything here. When it comes to NET however, things are different. Its from the days when premining was not common so there is no instamine or premine. Yes there were early miners but they didnt have 600 million coins like MOON. And just like real money, it doesn't have a stupid "theme" so its not just to buy paint or buy gold or buy quark or whatever bullshit theme these coin copycats create (wtf is a theme for in a currency?). It also has a prestigious foundation backing it and promoting it and several websites accept it direct for purchases. The main reason I think positively about NET is because historically it has been doubling when the halving comes so its a speculative option while pretty steady to own and keep with higher risk/reward than boring BTC and losing LTC. I do consider it the third coin (so do the Chinese lol check this out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397035.0 ).

After the crypto boom late 2013 newer coins have had more and more early adopters, so the distribution in them is better than in the earlier coins. It's better for the currency to have a lot of moderately wealthy people than a few filthy rich ones sitting on their wallets. Do you agree? Satoshi took that screw our children concept and created bitcoin. Now there is no way out because no one can write a single piece pf code to change anything here.
I'm not native English speaker so I don't get that sentence, what do you mean by that? I have mined around 4,000 and bought 8,000 @ 1,700 satoshi during December so I wouldn't mind NET 10x'in, but it's been basically a slow downhill since then.

I'm not native English speaker so I don't get that sentence, what do you mean by that? "Screw Our children" means basically stealing from future generation for the current elderly. Its a really bad phenomenon in human history here are a few examples of how older generation Fuck future generation: American Retirement (Called Social Security) pays more than it earns, so basically its a pot of money where elderly are taking more than the young are now putting in. So when the current young generation get old, they wont be able to get retirement because the system will collapse. Land Ownership: those who were born sooner have chopped up the planet, signed some paper and now "OWN" that piece of land. This should not be possible. If you buy a piece of land, you shouldnt be able to sell it. Once you die, it should go to a pool and be given to new generation of born kids. Dubai gives free land to their newborn kids. If you are a Dubai citizen and born there, you get free land from government, its yours. Atmosphere: We are creating tons of monoxide carbon with our cars. Our kids are born to a world that is way more polluted that we are. Landfills: We are filling the planet with trash and covering it and calling it landfills. Crazy big boxes of milk and water. Stupid. Our kids will be born with 1% of the planet already taken by trash. Whats going to happen after 2000 years? 20% of the planet will be landfills? Actually no, we will run out of resources to build new milk boxes and wars will erupt over natural resources. We are cutting down trees to build houses, we pollute our waters, we use whatever silicon is here to make computers, phones and tablets that we through away in just a few years in landfills. right now it doesn't feel like a big problem because we just started but after 500 or 1000 years they will hate us for it. Those were just a few examples of what we are doing now. Our previous generation did similar things and screwed things for us. This is a natural human phenomenon. ---------- By the way I agree, its better for a coin to have many avg wealthy adopters like NET and DOGE than one or two gazillionaires like MOON who will dump and run.

Saw some decent NET/XPM action today, so I sold a bunch of NET for XPM.
NET/BTC jumped up too, but not high enough for me to trade. Close, though.

Yea it had a good bounce but dropped again since then. This time it runs to 1500 it wont drop back and most will sell. It's pretty sad that a great coin like this falters and junk like potcoin and meow are hot these days. Those would never become a "currency" in the future but NET may be.

The coin is quietly and heavily being accumulated. The whales sold their way down and are not keeping the price low by buying all sell orders that come in and sell to those who bid higher and keep the price down. I see lots of buy orders go through so someone has been accumulating a lot of NET. I think the main reason is the block halving that is coming up in a few days.

Accumulation period is concluding. Looks like it hit a hard support line at 250 and it is bouncing back. No sellers now and difficulty is set so that its not profitable to mine at this time, therefore very little new coins are hitting the market. This will be a nice ride. Not to the moon, but it will be a nice steady profit IMO. Looking at that chart it seems like there will be some resistance at 700 Satoshi then smooth up to 1,000. Remember this was trading at 4,000 in Jan. ITs not a scam coin and was ZERO pre-mined. There were some developers and graphic artists who got in early and were probably cashing out but those are long gone. The difficulty does not allow hash farms to mine and sell a lot of coins at this time because while its not profitable to mine but profitable to buy and sell high. Enjoy the hints, watch the ride, listen and learn. If you think I am pumping this then look at my previous comments on this thread stating how expensive it was at 1,200 Satoshi. I bashed it then and now I am supporting it. There is no pump and dump. 1.3 BTC can catapult this to 430 Satoshi min, the rest I cant see on Cryptsy.

Any idea of coin distribution, how much do the 10 or 100 biggest wallets own? I suspect they own a lot, which would make people less likely to want to get involved at this stage anymore. Just look at quark, it's not moving anywhere until the early holders dump it to the bottom.
I mined this NET, first hour it was out in Sept and me and a friend solo mined about 125,000 + 290,000 in some hours, over the duration of 2 days, on just a few Radeon cards. At intro it wasn't worth much, but seeing it go up to 0.00120000 LTC each was ridiculous, but none the less true. I've always felt this coin belonged with the 250K GLX and 220K APC we mined, which has been over-valued for a long time. So, in my op. it has just returned to normal rates. :-/

Scroll down to bigjohnson's post on page two. I think it's a really good article about how NET is different from most other altcoins: http://forum.netcoinfoundation.org/thread/527/interesting-articleHere is a copy and paste if you can't open the link: ecoinclub.com/category/altcoin/ If you scroll to the very bottom you will see Netcoin, We hit that drop he is talking about due to all these other coin that have become the biggest distraction to the crypto world. Now is defiantly time to buy as many Netcoins you guys can. People think that mining all these new coins to "get in early" on something that will never make nothing in the end. Here is another interesting articlecryptolife.net/the-anatomy-of-a-scamcoin-7-things-to-know-before-investing-in-an-altcoin/ 1) Unjustified premine: NET has NO premine. Enough said there.. 2) Disproportionate amount of coins generated at launch: NET was announced so much that folks considered it spamming on cryptsy. lol They were to busy with most the other coins they give for the example given here. What had been mined by the Admin of this forum, also known as Meee on cryptsy, was giving away by the handfuls to help get NET some attention. Although there was plenty of time for everyone to setup their own miners to earn their own coins by mining. And there still is.. 512 block reward is still very nice. Not to mention the super blocks at 8X that amount!! NET has only halved once from 1024. 3) Initially released in a remote corner of the web: Like I said the tons of folks on cryptsy knew all about it during release, also known on cryptocointalk and Bitcointalk. And this forum was quickly made for the community that showed an interest in it. 4) Broken client at release: Not at all.. Netcoins wallet has been sturdy from the start. One hard fork to implement KGW for protection against multipools. So I'd say we can rule that one out. lol 5) Developer incompetence: The original Dev seem to abandon NET, a whole team quickly evolved to make sure everything was in order and running smooth, services and games arose and a great community to back it up. Again we had KGW implemented as well. There has been so much development going on in the back that it's hard to be here. Recently we created a client installer for windows and have been creating and tuning in a pool for NET, And setting up a store- shop.netcoinfoundation.org 6) Presentation: I'd have to say Netcoin has the best name and logo hands down.. That beautiful logo has been created by a famous aviation artist, Joe Jones that cost a pretty NET penny. Some info about Joe if your interested www.airmail-greetings.com/about_the_artist.php And finally, 7) No Community: Well if your reading this you can see we have a community. Not as active anymore as we would like, but it comes down to everyone really. We have been super busy developing NET for all to use and enjoy that we (the development team) have falling short, and we apologize for this. But still we try to be here and answer and question and help where it is needed. If your a member to this forum please help out where you can and don't be afraid to talk amongst yourselves and not just use the shoutbox. We have this general board for just that.. It's here to talk about anything you wish and we encourage you to use it. Be part of the greatest coin out there and we will watch it grow to new heights never seen in its time. Buy and sell, use NET, Spread the word and tell everyone you know about it. Give some out.. Design some sites, ask exchanges to add NET, ask stores to accept it. Lets have fun and make it happen. We all need to be a team together. NETCOINS FOR LIFE!! GO NET!! Read more: http://forum.netcoinfoundation.org/thread/527/interesting-article#ixzz2wbeWk0rK

I think so too, it is flat lining around 250 price point, someone is accumulating and keeping the price at this point, it will suddenly jump, many altcoins behave this way after a period of going down and flat lining (look at EXE, flat then jumped 4x)

Netcoin was first announced on a different forum (competitor to Bitcointalk) so it never got enough traction here on this forum. Its on of the best coins with TRUE zero premine and zero INSTAMINE as well. Many of the new :zero premine" claimed coins have a ton INSTAmined right away as soon as it opens when none of the pools, who are supposedly trying, can connect. Many times you mine on a pool from the first minute and never find a block for hours. By the time you get on a working pool and before the pool finds a block, difficulty has jumped 1000 times and many insiders already mined millions, now you come in to mine and only get 2000 coins in a day when the insiders mined millions in minutes. Netcoin is NOT and has never been like that. Another good thing is that most of those early miners have already sold their coins and gone so no one is promoting it much.

Break out seems to be starting. Ran nicely from 251 to 350 now back down to 294 taking a breather.
This is going to be fun. Very thin sell and large buy orders sitting there. If trading picks up this could quickly accelerate to over 400.

Today we've added support to keep track of your Netcoin addresses and exchange accounts to CryptFolio ( thread). CryptFolio helps you safely keep track of address balances and exchange account balances over time, and generates reports (such as your overall USD net worth and historical hashrates).

the price of NET is so cheap, if you want to pump this coin, maybe do some innovations is the best choice. POW change to POW&POS, anonymous and so on, if this difficult to change, maybe you can consider to make a new coin, then swap with NET.

as netcoin has no hard coded nodes at the moment i believe you have to rely on addnodes. these are the last successful connections i had from a couple of days ago. rest assured at the release of the next client this will be addressed with some hard codes atleast as there are a few permanent wallets around. check out the netcoin foundation forum for updates on how things are progressing :-) http://netcoinfoundation.org/ hope this helps you. p.s what client version are you running as netcoin is now 1.2 please make sure you have upgraded to the newest release addnode=89.168.49.160 addnode=24.61.253.204 addnode=66.169.251.146 addnode=2.49.21.36 addnode=99.233.20.11 addnode=47.55.128.13 addnode=23.94.27.228 addnode=5.35.248.37 addnode=54.200.138.226 addnode=67.253.190.127 addnode=50.107.103.231 addnode=192.99.206.10 addnode=174.26.116.139 addnode=54.235.220.143 addnode=50.149.31.242 addnode=70.56.8.14 addnode=99.175.219.40 addnode=92.5.99.146 addnode=198.74.59.133 addnode=5.135.139.202 addnode=54.201.183.106 addnode=162.243.226.39 addnode=54.200.25.58 addnode=85.71.97.250 addnode=198.245.63.172 addnode=204.11.237.203 addnode=99.137.226.94 addnode=64.34.49.151 addnode=188.226.176.232 addnode=50.7.135.34 addnode=81.167.91.10 addnode=188.226.235.34 addnode=72.46.152.250 addnode=87.98.188.77 addnode=162.243.212.142 addnode=95.168.193.75 addnode=173.208.172.242 addnode=204.11.237.245
