i think you should choose an altcoin that has high volume and more popular in the crypto market, that will be easier for every transactions, my personal suggestion is Ethereum for trading short term, it is the second popular altcoin on the market and standing just behind bitcoin, so trading ETH depends very much on BTC but the profit from the fluctuation can be enormous.

Indeed, it's amazing how many individuals here think posting "buy low, sell high" is laying down some deep thought for the community.  I see it over and over.  It's almost as bad as "don't gamble more than you can afford to lose".

Anyhow, my favorite altcoin wallet is Coinomi.  I've not had a problem with it, it's easy to use, and there are a lot of coins it supports.  They also have Shapeshift built into it, so it's fairly easy (if you're not a US resident) to switch between coins.  One of the best features of it is that you can adjust network fees, which something that really should be standard for a wallet but isn't for a lot of them.  Best coins it supports are Dash and ETH.  Those are by far my favorites, and lately they've been offering a good opportunity to make some money.

Stay away from thinly traded coins, the likes of which are traded on sketchy exchanges like yobit.  The markets for such are so thin that it's near impossible to get sell orders filled.  Stick to coins with very liquid markets, which means the bigger named ones (Litecoin, Dash, ETH, Monero, etc.).
