For how long will bitcoin exist

Somewhere I read that within the next 10 years or so, super-computers will be able to crack the private keys of Bitcoins. So I don't believe that Bitcoins will survive for more than 10 years, unless there is a major change in the format of the private keys.

There is no right or wrong about your opinion, but if we base it on facts the maybe you got it wrong. First is that bitcoin already a 10 years in existence and it is always on the rise which makes it blurry to be dead. Second is, bitcoin's life depends on how investors patronize it. As long as there are more people willing to invest in it then bitcoin will remain in existence.

Bitcoin will survive long if the number of investor are not going gone and when the time comes that bitcoin will become the basic money for all transaction then its not going to perish because it will be use for the future, but for the meantime that not all people is unto bitcoin then we can't say that it is going to be a global money to all.

Knowing when and where of bitcoin is a really though thing. As far as I know, predicting bitcoins state could gone through a lot of opinions, process and state even though we are fully familiar with it. Much more with the existency of bitcoin, we did not know what coyld possibly and how could this thing happen in this coming scenes.

Bitcoin will exist for a long with more people starting to use it same as traditional currency that we use around with massive adoption happening with time. As per me bitcoin just started. It has a long way to go. And I don't think is going to is ever going out. In fact it will only become better and better as more and more people start adopting to the technology used by it and start using bitcoin as a mode of transaction. I think it is not going anywhere for next 40-50 years. Since I will not be alive after 50 years anyway, I need not worry about that. In fact, if it even survives for 10 years and you invest in 4-5 BTC during this time interval, you will have enough to retire and live a comfortable life. Even after 50 years we will have crypto in one form or another. We may see some new coin with lots of unique features destroying bitcoin. I guess my children will be dealing in those coins.
