I just bought an Avalon Batch 1 miner that has 3 blades and have some questions:

1. I want to replace the 650W PSU with an 850W PSU, I wonder if someone could recommend one I could buy today to replace it?
2. I noticed when taking the lid off the nuts fell inside the case, is there a proper method to putting the lid back on so I don't lose the nuts? I notice the nuts have slots cut into one side of them but putting them on upside down might be a little hard...
3. Where can I buy more bolts and nuts from, it seems the previous owner didn't up all them on the case, I am not sure if he lost them or what the story is, but there looks like there is about 5 to 10 missing.
4. I noticed there are only 3 thermal sensors plugged in on the system board, is this normal with the 1st batch?
5. There are two big heavy duty fans and one clear fan, should I upgrade the fans at all? Are the fans different on the Batch 2 Avalons?

Looking forward to heading your answers.

Thanks

2) They're retarded, deal with it. Just make sure all are accounted for, other users have shorted with it
4) Thats right, 2 for modules and 1 for ambient.
5) Dont touch the fans unless you need to

Sorry I meant 2 not 3 thermal sensors plugged in. Typo.

1. I want to replace the 650W PSU with an 850W PSU, I wonder if someone could recommend one I could buy today to replace it?

The Corsair AX860i is probably one of the best 850W PSUs that can fit into a Batch 1 Avalon without any modifications.

I fitted the same PSU, runs them very well. As for the screws, you'll find there's a technique to it after a while (put the screw through hole first, then carefully slide the nut under and quickly use the screw to pin the nut to stop it from falling in. Screw and unscrew a tiny tiny amount to make sure you found the start of the thread properly, then align the notches of the nut with the edge they slot into. Push the nut up so the notches engage with the edge, pushing the superficially engaged screw up out of it's hole again. Then you can use the allen key to tighten up while holding the nut in it's correct placement)

Well it would be nice if the guys who make the Avalon would add a spare parts page to their site so people can buy things like screws and nuts.

Thinking about it if I can find some kind of small non-slippery wedge to prop the nuts in place I should be able to get the bolts back on without too much fuss. I even thought about bending the thin parts on the case down to hold the nuts. We'll see.
