I would like to share this one post that is for me like a merit begging but you can decide if this merit begging or not. It it is not, I will lock this thread immediately. I will give the information below.

Profile - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=845342

He/She posted a post in one of the threads in altcoin discussion and in the bottom of it there is a certain message.

Here is the post link - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2927040.msg30294767#msg30294767

Like I said if this is not considered as merit begging then I will lock this thread but if it is then I will let the DT members do the job with it. Thanks.

EDIT: I see his/her profile and see that there is another post of him/her with the same message below.

Yes, and no. It isn't a case of blatant (explicit) begging for merit, but it is anyways. The whole system was designed so that you don't need to do that (each post has a button right next to it). Now, there were a few discussions about whether people should be tagged for this or not. The general consensus, from what I remember, is that we *should let it slide* unless/(until) the user develops a chronic habit of doing this (either via posts or via PM).

With two posts (+ being a one line shitposter), this user is just pushing it. Obviously, he/she would only get merit in very rare instances (or not at all), which is why they are doing this.
Note: Just noticed that I had *some interactions* with this user in 2016 (visible in their post history). I wonder whether the account got compromised.

In my opinion--which isn't worth very much here--this doesn't rise to the level of begging.  At all.  What bugs me about that post is this line:
Selecting is great ICO will lead you to some huge profits in the future by just doing some research efforts into it.
The above has been written in every variation, combination, and permutation imaginable, and it's always the shitposters who write it.  Saying that something will give you huge profits and that you need to do research says absolutely nothing.  But this is one of a limited number of things that non-English speaking shitposters have learned how to write, and they keep writing it ad nauseam.  It's a completely useless, vapid thought, and it never needs to be written.  You might as well tell everyone on bitcointalk that the sun will rise tomorrow.

Does this guy's post deserve merit?  Absolutely not.  But that little request at the end doesn't bother me, and I wouldn't tag him for writing it.
