I really don't want to be difficult. I actually like your shortener very much, it's one of my favorites. Everything is running like clockwork, except for some traffic being lost.
I suspect this might have something to do with it...
1. Some IP's are flagged as "bad" and thus will not be counted. It could be proxies, tor, government sites, those with high fraud ratings...?
2. Somehow, these people have found a way to extract the target URL without having to click "skip ad"?
3. They are running some form of ad-blocker that makes them not count?
Your system might be 100% ok, but for some reason the traffic is seen as "bad" and filtered out?
On average across the different shorteners that I'm using, 80% counted seems to be about average. Some count higher and some lower, some even count in excess of 100% since they seem to count popunder as a separate "view"?
The number fluctuates on a daily basis, no one is perfectly stable.
Since your CPM is as good as it is, you still end up being competetive. Not the best paying, but definitely in the top end.
So, even with some traffic being lost, you're still doing ok. If you figured out what setting to tweak to bring it up to 80% you'd probably place yourself at the no1 position.
If I knew more about how you determine what traffic is good vs bad, I might be able to provide more insight, but knowing how I can set my filters on my faucets, I also realize the filter settings can have a huge impact.
Here's a direct question. IP's flagged as "proxy", are they counted? If not, that could be it right there...
I haven't implemented the most draconian settings yet, so it's possible some ip's slip through the cracks?
