When I search the Internet about BitCoin, I see a lot of BitCoin exchanges. My questions are:

(1) how do you know that a BitCoin exchange is trustworthy or not?

(2) where can we buy goods or service with BitCoin?

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

You can buy and sell stuff for btc here or on bitmit, silk road ....
Usually big exchangers like mt.gox, bitstamp, btc-e, coinbase are trustworthy. But be careful with smaller websites.
