I think Yes, they will be available only to accredited investors with a certain amount of money in their bank accounts.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Since so many ICOs seem to be getting done privately by big institutions investors where the public needs to have connections to get in to a large minimum investment (Eg. 100 ETH+)...
Do you think Public Pre-Sales (e.g. minimum 100 ETH) or Pre-Sale Pools will even exist in 2 years?

Their have been spate of ICOs recently some have bought lot of value to investors while others have eroded customers wealth  or are complete spam . I am though of firm belief that ICOs surely would be their  as demand of Cryptocurrencies /Block chain increase day by day the only change i see would be investors  would be more sensible and would be less prone to scams /frauds.  Inve

ICOs operating in Niche sector and offering value for money to investors would continue to exist and prosper

One major factor can stop the ICO's if all ICO CEO remain honest as at the moment today i have read that some investors have complained in Germany to the German ministry about some ICO bad experience. so many others matter also effect it like demand of crypto trading and the altcoins market value.

Yes because now everyone is able to collect money, even for stupidest project someone will send money.
Yes they will, but they will be more regulated, hopefully. That means no more selling of tokens straight from an ICO's website or from a forum thread, no more public crowdsales without collecting KYC/AML, and no more sales to people who are in a lower income bracket.
Yeah, great, blindly trust stranger from internet.
I see more ICO's are enforcing KYC, we will see impact of that in next couple of years when people start complaining that someone used their ID's to commit a fraud.
Airdrops and other forms of loading the pot to attract more people might also not be allowed.
I don't see reason why not.

Do you ever really wondered what is an ICO really? The short answer in most cases would be: "ICO is a way for everyone to gather money".
But I don't think it is that simple -in my book, the word ICO is merely a synonym for an "unlicensed security".
ICO creators are using the hype linked to blockchain technology to deceive uninformed consumers with false promises, dubious claims, and dishonest terms related to their amazing investing option.
So here is my problem - currently, there are no regulations, constraints or any form of control of ICO offerings.
After you bought your 'share' you have no control over it anymore - you have no right, forget about voting, auditing or corporate rights of any kind.
So if the ICO will fail or scam - well, tough luck and goodbye. This is not acceptable IMO, either some kind of restriction should be put in place.

There are a lot of questions to ICOs and they are still not regulated by anyone and risks to become scammed are high. Two years are not such long period, so I think in some countries ICOs will be banned or tough regulated, but there will be other countries which will stay such projects free.

The recent rise in ICOs indicates that there are more attention and investment in the cryptocurrencies market. The launch of ICO projects is similar to the crowdfunding model, raising capital from individuals without the need of institutional investors as before. The future of this model will be a revolutionary startup in calling for equity from individuals instead of institutional investors as at present.

the main question here must will even crypto coins will exist in 2 years and if somehow they will survive I guess only 40-50 of them will be left which will cut the new ICO`s and turn them into startups who don`t sell just dream

Cryptocurrency has no limitations and ICO is good source of funds though crowdfunding as long as the projects has good products or has impact to the people there is no doubt that will boom. ICOs will still exist in 2 years if there is no regulations that will force them to stop making or producing ICOs. This is a open competitions to all developer whose ideas or dreams is in need of funding.

I think that during the next 2 years, it will not only be more popular but it will a standard. Look at todays  days as at West Wide period. We only at start of new era. I have no doubt that the next 4-10 months there will a new standard of how to structure your PreSale Pitch to be more attractive to VC. The more time will pass the shorter will PreSale Period and higher entering price and higher requirements will apply to enter to good projects. At the end of this process, we will get the same rules and demands as we have on Pre IPO on the funds market as Nasdaq or NYSE.

I think there is new technique for capitalization in the future but for me ICO is still there and many companies are still conducting it after 2 years but it could be harder than now because of the regulations made by the government and i think they will be taxed in the future.

In my opinion, ICOs will not only last for two years but even more than that as with every passing day, more number of people get convinced for this thing that investing in ICOs is one of the good thing to do and that doing this will help them in having some good amount of money later on. Anything related to that of crypto currency has actually a very bright future and that will remain there in this world.

The cat is out of the bag. I think both private token sales and public ICOs will continue to proliferate. There are, of course, huge opportunities for VCs to push for private equity. No different than IPOs. So we'll continue to see two distinct classes of coin offerings -- 1) top tier private offerings for accredited investors and 2) public ICOs for everyone else.

We're seeing diminishing returns from the current wave of ICOs, and that's why a lot of people think they won't last. But the reality is this: even if ICOs were mostly cash grabs based on vaporware, they are a fundamentally groundbreaking fundraising mechanism. They remove major investment barriers for people across classes. Working class folks and people in developing countries have never had this sort of access to liquid investments. So they aren't going anywhere.

I think the first wave of ICOs were mostly comparable to altcoins in 2013 -- the Devcoins, the Chinacoins, the Feathercoins. The next wave of hype and investment will blow a lot of peoples' minds.

this is very good point you bring out sir. in developing countries, access to capital for businesses is a huge challenge. i think ICOs are even suited better for those markets. if proper mechanisms are put in place to protect investors and reduce scams, then ICO model is just begging and i think we will see interesting projects come out it.

They will not only in two years, new ideas will appear every day, teams will be gathered to build a new project that will show us something new and perfect. So, over time, we expect only to increase competition and reduce the number of scammers.

As long as it was not banned or against the law, ico will keep on adding, it is the easiest and way to fund a project since it attracts global investors. ICO is not that bad to get banned for long, we just need to be smart on choosing where to put our investments.
