Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Welcome.  I admit I'm less enthused about altcoins because I don't want to have to keep installing wallets and trying to keep up with the values.  Bitcoins are enough for me for now but that's my opinion only.

It seems it is a very active and friendly forum.

My first altcoin love was primecoin Smiley
I could make almost a 1 btc mining it the first week it was launched.
It profit justified the several clients installs.
