No the logic for the idea of PTR was wrong because digital currencies is not a new thing, the US dollar is digital; we have dozens of examples of national digital currency already.   The vast majority of most western currencies are only ever described on computer systems transmitted between balance sheets of various institutions.   The point missed with crypto is it does really require decentralisation, this aligns it with capitalism and the Petro PTR standard failed to respect this and so was never going to achieve more then what is already the status quo with money revolving around the centralised powers of politics and military control.  
  
    This is not a productive situation and there is no special reason for PTR being able to develop the economy in Venezuela when it is constrained to the boundaries of a dictatorship.    I wish they had given the liberty of free capital a chance, a special enterprise zone without interference is something I would like to see in every country of the world.
   The idea ordinary plain people in a population can be productive and a great benefit to a country is not believed by those already in power and wealth.   Always avoid Elitism, its the opposite of the truth and repeatedly fails.

So far as I know the country is a military dictatorship is the same fashion as many other failed states previously.    No one can change the current state of affairs except the military or peoples militia through violence and death, they have no other means to change laws or people in power.   The military is supported financially by transporting drugs internationally and has no wish to support the people or progress that would alter their income from their work with the drug cartels.    The legal and elected bodies oppose Maduro but do not have the power to remove him, the Venezuela military, Russia and Cuba support the continuation of the failed state so long as they benefit from it.
   Nothing in the PTR blockchain allowed the people or anyone else to act independently or do business outside of the centralized control of the government so it does not match the definition of crypto currency.

Great, I hope they will prove those restrained by conventional ideas to be wrong and the people and real economy of Venezuela are able to thrive.   The narrative of an outside influence causing all problems in an economy is not a new argument, its the excuse of many regimes as they fail and circle the pull of a drain.    Natural dynamics in an economy matter, thats all I care about not the politics not the egos and ideas in singular view when the economy is the many never the few.

I read recently Zimbabwe is once again experiencing problems with inflation after inventing a digital currency.  Fortunately they have not tried to label it with the idea of cryptocurrency so far as I know, just they have skipped the idea of endlessly printing paper notes of promised value.   I'm not bothered if its Mugabee or Madro or whoever the name at the top is, I just dont believe these ideas will prosper vs simple natural re-occuring dynamics that have been in play for centuries, force cant make an idea float if the basic principles are compromised.
