But the latest sex coin windows client cannot run on my windows XP box 

I register this account to ask for help in the sxc thread, but I cannot post there now

Does anyone experience the same problem?

1. Where did you get the client?
2. What is the version?
3. What kind of errors are you getting?

The official windows binary is here:

This client was thoroughly tested on windows XP.

I think I downloaded the client from the link in the official thread.
The most recent RC version.
There is a error code 0x8.... when starting the program.

I open the exe file in depends, and it suggested missing vc runtime.

I have installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387

The error has gone.

PS:
My win XP was clean installed. Maybe you have not tested on a clean installed windows XP.

I think that was  the problem. XP is a rather old OS and after a new installation you also need to download and install all microsoft service packs to be up to date (can take some serious time).
