I found nothing with TMAN, Foxpup
I'm not really sure what you expected to find

I really did not expect to find anything at all. To me, it was just a pattern when I saw you have sent 6 times merit to the same person https://prnt.sc/ijjfox

I really do not expect to find anything from nullius as well. It's just 21 times sending merits to the same person seems odd to me on top of it receiving 20 merits from the same person you gave 23 merits can bring up two reasons...

1. You are intentionally exchanging merits to each others. More correctly I will say, you are liking each others contents so much that you took this merit points to favour each others. There are other people on the forum giving their best deserves your sMerits.
2. Both account owned by same person. I don't think this will be really the real case coz both alia and nullius are creating good contents. For one person it's really impossible managing multiple accounts with providing good contents.

Quote
I also doubt you'll get very far by sucking up to the top merit senders (I can tell you it won't get you anywhere with me).

- This is really what I do not like about merit system. You are literally saying receiving merit for my content is favour from you! Don't you think I should receive merits for my contents not to make you happy since you are merit sender? This is abusive in my opinion.

By the way it's a good advice though, I wish I hear you.  Smiley

Merited by alia (1)

I really did not expect to find anything at all. To me, it was just a pattern when I saw you have sent 6 times merit to the same person https://prnt.sc/ijjfox
The only pattern is that some people, unlike most of the shitposters on this forum, are capable of making multiple meritorious posts (there are currently 15 people who have each had multiple posts merited by me; alia isn't alone in that respect). Those same people also tend to receive merit from multiple senders, since most people who have sMerit to spend tend to agree on what kinds of posts deserve merit.

No, I am literally saying the exact opposite. If you want merit, you'll have to make posts that are worthy of merit, same as everybody else. You won't receive it as a favour, at least not from me.

I'll do it, if you ignore me Cheesy
I just like seeing a Newbie who posts decent posts. I've reported many bad posts and got many accounts banned, it's very nice to find new users who's posts are worth reading. I give Merit to reward them and improve the forum at the same time.

My bad I ignored you  Grin

I have no problem of someone giving and receiving merits certainly merits and sMerits are for giving and receiving. The sole purpose of this merit system is to credit the content creator and help the community to build stronger. Since we have limited merit source and infinite number of lower ranked members, it's really a luxury to send total of 23 merits 21 times to only one person.

Quote
Category 2: Questioned!!!
1 Merit for writing only one line!
A long post doesn't mean it's a good post.
- Yes I know it obviously.

Quote
Quote
the post was a very good humorous post which immediately made nullius a fan of alia's. Then on top of it when alia send 16 merits ( https://prnt.sc/ijgfqn ) to nullius on the same day just in few mins difference (February 16, 2018, 11:00:10 PM) then no doubt that nullius has a good biased mind for alia.
I think you're overthinking this. To receive Merit, you need two things: quality posts, and someone with sMerit has to read your posts. Both nullius and alia have good posts, they both have sMerit to give, and they're reading each other's posts because they like reading them.
-I guess I need to rephrase it then ...  Grin
Quote
Keep good relationship with higher ranked members, try your best to post some quality posts and always remember those higher ranked members, sMerits will come on your way.
Keep good relationship with someone has sMerit and post quality.

I guess for two persons, giving merits should have a limit and also receiving merits should have a limit or the same two user can give and receive merits from each others for infinite times. Someone with having a bad intention can easily take this advantage.

I also think sending sMerit in one transaction (one go i mean) should have a limit. I saw people sent 50 sMerits. This is just too much. May be 1 or 2 sMerit should be good for a post no matter if thats even the worlds  best content.

Quote
That's BlackJack, right?
-Yes it is  Tongue The user writes really too long and has super energy.

You seem to have forgotten that merit between two people cannot be given infinitely, because merit is scarce. Let's say nullius and I have 10 merit points and 5 sMerits each. Sure, he can bump mine up to 15, and I can do that for him, but that does not mean that such a thing can continue forever. The only way to make it sustainable is for us to continue making good posts, and to continue giving merit. There's no trade-off happening which you cannot see - I send merits to meritorious posts, and he does the same. Get your tinfoil hat off.

When nullius is really going at it, his posts are so good they become harder to understand for non-native English speakers
You nailed it on the head, bro.  No-reading-required shitposters have very limited English vocabularies, so I think a lot of what nullius writes sails right over their unwashed heads most of the time.  They certainly can't appreciate why exactly it is that he's gotten so much merit.

I've given out merits to a lot of different users here, and not just to those who are higher ranked.  In fact, I've made it a point to limit the number of merits I give out to legendary members, since they don't really "need" them.  The problem is, and always has been, that bitcointalk is flooded with noob shitposters who don't understand English and don't put any thought into their posts.  The good posts--often by Hero/Legendary members, get silenced amid the roar of garbage posts.  So if it seems like noobs aren't getting a lot of merit, it's true; they're not.  They are in general the least deserving of it, IMO

I agree with what you pointed out, Pharmacist. Newcome users should try improving their English skills first, reading and writing skills in particular. The simple reason is if they can not understand what they read in the forum, they can not discuss, help other users for sure. Writing skill is important when they want to express their original ideas into words, phrases, sentences.
I have seen lots of users in the forum (mostly came from Newbies and Junior Members) posted broken-English threads. I am not sure they came from spammers, who usually using Google translate for their daily boring works; but mostly came from them.
I also hope that merit system will completely eliminate those users out of the forum forever.

I think many people are now studying how to get advantages, others can refer to the method, but not necessarily for you, I feel as long as they are posting useful information on it, people who agree will give you the advantages of time.

Yeah, they say people are abusing merits by just giving it to their friends or groups cycle but they are just doing it the same with us, so just ignore the others and just do things that you know it's right.

You seem to have forgotten that merit between two people cannot be given infinitely, because merit is scarce.

- Is that a trick you apply when you encounter someone... "You seem to have forgotten", "I understand that you are not capable of such posts - maybe one day" and etc...?

I guess we both know what we are doing here. I'm not out to change the world nor to wreck it either.

Let's continue with your given numbers... You both have now 15 Merits each and 2.5 sMerits. You can giveaway 2 each. That makes gaining 1 more sMerits each. So again you can giveaway 1 each and now you both again get 0.5 sMerit each. That adds up with the leftover 0.5 sMerit and make 1 sMerit again. Now give each other this 1 sMerit. What do you have now...

19 Merits and 0 sMerits each. Means your initial 10 Merits just turned into 19 merits.

Do you see from 5 sMerits each, you both were able to accumulate 9 more Merits each just because you wanted to exchange the merits with each others?
If you were not in exchange mood then you would be given your initial 5 sMerits to some random good posts and in return we don't know what would you get. This is how someone can manipulate merit system if two person decides to give merits each others to gain advantage.

But this is not my point here and you also clearly know what I wanted to say when I said, "...receive merits from each others for infinite times".
You are just trying to exaggerate the topic.

We all know you and nullius are making good post. I never ignored it. What I said is this, "...no doubt that nullius has a good biased mind for alia".

I just came here because of your clickbait title. I just read through the thread, and this is all I have to say:

Stop trying so hard to earn merit. Your post history is worse than decent, and although the quality has been getting better recently (meaning the past few weeks), it's an obvious ploy to try to earn more Merit (keyword: obvious). I'd just like to point out the fact that I (and more than likely others) do not tend to merit posts that are obviously looking for merit.

Contribute something more natural to conversation. Take time to partake and engage in topics that are relevant and topical to Bitcoin. If you don't know what people are talking about in the topic, do a little Google search and try to gain knowledge on the subject matter, and then ask questions that show genuine interest. If your post is genuine, it will show through; especially if we can see that you've taken the time to be a part of a larger conversation rather than just contributing to megathreads.

Give yourself some time and explore the vast sea that is this forum. Get involved, and make some friends.

But do NOT post passive aggressive topics that turn into sucking up to others. That's the vibe I'm getting from you in this thread. It's unnatural, forced, and quite frankly, awkward as hell.

the problem with this people, they are envious to others that have granted merits, they pulled you down when you have been merited, rank is not a basis if it is highly deserves a merit or not, some newbies have better posts and of quality than higher ranked members, rank is just a laddered system, all high ranked members started as newbies. merits is just a part of that system. if 2 persons are giving each other merits, maybe you should look at their posts and not just the merit exchange, regardless of their ranks.

3. nullius is hardly a "higher ranked" member, he's super new to the forum, as am I.

5. nullius and I are both open haters of people who exchange merit for favours, money. etc. - I have been offered merit points for favours/money multiple times, and I have declined every time.

nullius puts a great deal of time and effort into his posts, and when they're written about me, you can understand why I'd want to give him merit. People like him, who provide posts filled with content and backed with evidence, are the reason that I come here.

How long have you and nullius been married? Sounds like a great relationship!

I'm kidding....mostly.

I suggest you start making quality posts (and stop trying to make money from link shorteners), and then you'll understand.

This is the reason all of us should be here. Thanks for rewarding those that give us so much.

I am in support of merit system coz it was needed to improve the contents however we are giving merit a bad name. We are throwing away merits to someone we like. I'm sure if we would not see who has what rank and if there was a way to elemental the favourite mentality then we would not see all these trash talking with merit system.

They are weak when it comes to pussy. if you have one, show it on camera and get merits. probably I would've be sending out hundreds of merits to alia if I had that many. (actually not, despite being a loser virgin, I'm not weak against girls, that's because I haven't jumped one yet. maybe experiencing matrimonial intercourse, could develop a weakness in me).

I have spend almost last 24 hours to read only two posts on the forum. One about alia and another one about aTriz. Here I am thinking I have now a proven point to claim that I was right at the time of writing the original post.

After reading both posts above, it's obvious that alia was literally fooling everyone even, theymos. So in my OP if you get an impression about nullius giving alia merits for her (his, their or whatever doesn't even matter) so called relevant and high quality posts then it's obvious that nullius was just a victim like other especially aTriz.

The strategy from alia was really very simple. She (he, they etc) simply targeted few highly reputable members like aTriz, Lauda, TMAN, Foxpup and others, not to mention nullius, made a circle around them and started taking benefit of the human weakness (Trust).

Great job scam_detector  Grin
