In my sociality it's not. Maybe only in jokes like: "Woman should stay in the kitchen.". All in all I think we have gone a big step foward.

Not everything will go our way, it is a process and hopefully in the making. We need everyone, every nation to agree upon this to make it work. We don't need discrimination and unfairness in our society. We all deserve the great things in life and work for our aspirations freely and at ease.

Gender equity means fairness of treatment for women and men, according to their respective needs. This may include equal treatment or treatment that is different but which is considered equivalent in terms of rights, benefits, obligations and opportunities.

Nope it is not anymore unequal when it comes in gender. Yet, there are people who get criticism and bully, it is because the indoctrination as social influence reacts in the people that surrounded by the gay.
This is the problem of third gender, on how they will be respected in our community. But for me, gay and lesbian must not be judged in their personality because they choose their own road.

Depending on the community in each place, in my place there is not such as gender inequity, women have been given the same rights as men and regulated by policy and rules that exist in my country, even some of the leadership such as mayor, governor, leader of company is filled by women.

What are you trying to say? Is it about marriage or about gender equality?  Or you are trying to say about the opposite sex is still not permitted to be married?

When you say not anymore then i believe that you are talking about the western countries and civilization but i am very much sure that in the third world countries and mostly islamic predominate countries, there isn't any gender equity there and the men mostly are in control of everything.

I don't agree. Maybe you live in a country were gender equality is still a problem. Most of the Muslim countries have this problem. Maybe its because of their culture were they can buy any women they want to marry. I think that is the main reason why the gender equality will always be a problem. There are countries who were practicing gender equality like European countries and some parts in America. Asian countries seems to have problems as well but they are in the process of accepting it.

Why are you suprised? For millenia, we have lived a paternistic society. Men ruled and women are subservient. Because men are physically stronger than women so they could protect and attack. It's nit just now that we don't value physical strength anymore outside the Olympics. We are ruled by intellect now (some what) and that is where women are pros (in an evolutionary stand point). So yes that is why it is hard for everyone to think that all genders are equal. But rest assured that some countries have achieved this (some what)

Apparently, in my society, well depends if you are from the city or not , but gender equality is really here to stay, women have been accomplishing lots of great things, and that is not something you can over look.,
what i think we need to look into is knowing the key roles individual poses, because on the banner or equality many men are being disrespected and abuse, morals have gone to shit as a result, we miss the point when it matters most..

Gender equity is just a beautiful quote! I do not think that this equity really applies, and this is seen in the sphere of leadership, everything that holds the intellectual aspects, the woman being considered just beautiful, not wise, and society is driving this image more and more, the one in which the woman can not hold both qualities at the same time.

Religion is the biggest stumbling block to gender equality. Remove the religion and men will start treating women with respect. Look at the Islamic nations such as Saudi Arabia. Women are treated worse than cattle there.
