Can't only have one exchange - too much risk when deposits go down.

------

Allcoin have closed the voting page

Must have sourcecode on github.
Must have a thread on Bitcointalk or Cryptocointalk.
Developers must inform Coin-Swap when new wallets are released.

Must have an blockchain explorer.

Shame both the HBN explorers are being iffy this weekend. :/

Right. It's a shame that 50% time the explorer and rich list is down:( HOBO deserves more stable explorer

I thought HBN was top of the list last round? or did I miss a last second dash to the line by another coin?
They sometimes take a while to actually add the coin that wins

Yes HBN was top after the close on 8-2. So I am not sure. If anyone has contact with them please send them a message and see what's up.

I sent them a message...

Hi Eltomeko,

Yes, we'll add HBN.  But we can't find an explorer

Yes both the explores are down Sad

If it helps, I've got an idle VPS (6 Xeon, 6GB RAM, 70GB SDD, 1Gb/s) that I'd be happy to run a copy of Unick's HBN explorer on so we have a backup option. Just send me a PM.

Unrelated: I just read that Dogecoin will be merge mined with Litecoin (source). I wonder if the same could be achieved for HBN & CAP since they are both maintained by Tranz. This might make these coins more attractive to PoW miners. Has this been considered already?

I've never heard of allcoin. Seems sketchy to me. I'd rather trade on mintpal or bittrex but cryptsy is good enough and I've never had major problems with them.

Hello to All,  Smiley

First post here on HBN topic, but reading it for a long time. BTW, thanks for all the hard work Tranz and others!

Just want to let you know that I've been trading GRW on Allcoin for some time and found it very reliable so far. So this new HBN market, even small, seems like a great step ahead to me!

Greetings,
Alex_Koekie

Thanks for the offer. I will see what Unick says. I have PM'd him but he is out.

The topic of merge mining has been brought up before. I am not sure it is necessary for HBN or CAP or any PoW/PoS hybrid coin for that matter.  On both coins now the majority of the blocks are being moved by PoS. PoW is slowly being phased out naturally, as was intended. If we allow it to be easier to mine both it is truly counter productive.

I'll chime in on this too. I've traded on allcoin off and on almost since they opened. I had one issue with them, and they solved it very quickly. Full disclosure, it was my mistake and they didn't make me feel as stupid as I actually was. Other than that, I've never had a problem and they seem quite reputable.

I think Allcoin is taking a pass on HBN. They said on the troll box that it was too much of a memory and CPU hog and impacted their other daemons.

That's really looks bad for them, IMO. It runs fine off a raspberry PI, can get much more cheaper computer then that. Plus people sent BTC to vote with. Those should be fully refunded, otherwise the entire voting scheme is nothing but a scam.

I agree, the btc should be refunded. I also am guessing they got lazy syncing a large chain and maybe looked at the resources while syncing?

You might be right, it is rather CPU intensive when in initial sync. Afterwards, if you don't stake, it uses the exact same CPU as any other coin(next to nothing). And the memory is right in line with all others as well, in relation to block size.

A simple request and I would make them a full bootstrap and index if they wanted.

Sorry guys. Shame how difficult it seems to be for people to keep their word when dealing with crypto.

HBN already has 3 exchanges, two of which have little to no volume. It is hard to know whether or not another exchange would have been utilized or not.  I have a hard time seeing the scenario for much volume elsewhere. If the HBN community is actually interested in a different exchange, I would suggest coin-swap, a smaller exchange with an active dev and quick GUI and withdrawals/deposits. But it would sort of be a slap in the face to setup another exchange and then have little to no volume there.

Looks like http://hbn.blockx.info/ is still having issues.

My address is gone from the Richlist and I can't search for my wallet address on the site.

All the Exchanges taking bribes for listing coins are just stealing money from people.

mining also has been drawing some intense interest. past few days the net hash has doubled a few times instantly, either a big solo miner or perhaps one of the multipools stealthily mining (hbn has been most profitable scrypt coin to mine a few times)

in this new world of 10 new coins every day, hbn stands out to me because it has been around over a year, still has the dev being extremely active, and has innovation in the wallet

is there an IRC?
