so still not on yobit

they still resync the blockchain
It took me 3 1/2 days to resync the blockchain. that is absolutely crazy! That is why i don't buy more HBN.

you are a hero, common ppl use at least the bootstrap from dev:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303749.msg3251165#msg3251165

Last time that bootstrap was updated I think was ~ 2 years ago?  I think...  Still better than nothing though.

This space not for rent...

HBN desperately needs some love. YoBit won't make much of a difference without some quality dev care.

Thanks but I still have 0 connections to the network. I'll try another day.

If your HBN Active network connection stay Low or you suffer from a lot of disconnects in your debug log.
As usual , we can blame Microsoft, the windows firewall is a strange creature, even thru HBN seems to work without making changes to the windows firewall , it seems to cause some issues.

Try This:  Smiley

Windows :
Click start, click control panel, click Windows Firewall,
Make a note on which network is connected Home/Work or Public
Then Click on Allow a Program or feature thru Windows Firewall , click allow another program, click browse , then go to the folder with HoboNickel-qt.exe , select HoboNickel-qt.exe  , click open, click add ,

It should then be in the list of allowed programs with a check mark to the left and a check mark on the right side under home/work or public (you want it to be on the 1 that showed as connected), Click OK , and then reboot.

Next time you start the HBN client, your active connections should be normal.

 Cool

FYI:
If you still have problems check your Antivirus and make sure it's firewall is not blocking HBN.

FYI2:
Make sure your HoboNickels.conf is actually a .conf and not a .txt file
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/software/how-show-or-hide-file-extensions-3341794/

FYI3:
sKept15k is correct make sure your PC's Time is correct.

No, he is just busy with many other things. He has said so more than once. Be assured that if there are substantial problems, he'll be there to help.

Seems like everyone does a 2.0 atm

Hbn should try that aswell.
This outdated Client combined with the bloated Chain (even with the strong Community) will lead hbn into oblivion.
Thats the major Problem here.

Face it.

Whew HBN is sure taking a lot of system resources for the wallet to run.  My old Atom netbook which I had used for HBN mining only became overburdened and did not have the system resources to run the wallet (believe it is a 4gb 1.8 dual core atom).

Moved my wallet to a full desktop (one generation old) and it takes up a significant amount of system resources, keeps my cpu busy while my gpu is mining eth.

After not having mined for a while (4, 6months? not sure) it seems that the difficulty has really plummeted, churning out a pretty crazy amount of staked HBN.

Sad to see that is is fading away somewhat. Without any new initiatives the coin will fade to irrelevance. As much as I like HBN and supported it over the years it doesn't seem to me like there is much of a plan going forward, and without one, the future looks bleak. One guy can only work on so many different projects at the same time.

As I said about 1.5 years ago or so in this thread, a coin really needs at least a few businesses accepting it as payment, especially a pos coin, otherwise the inflation will inexorably drive it to being worthless.

Well, it would be nice if the wallet would use a little less resources for staking. I use a fairly strong laptop to run btc-core, cap and hbn at the same time and it's pretty much all it can handle.

Another thing worth mentioning is the amount of orphans if have staking: About 30% of what is staked turns out to be an orphan.
When I move my wallet to my dab ass i7 desktop, the percentage drops below 5%. Another indication the hbn wallet is very dependent on resources.

All in all, I am very impressed it works so reliably after about 3 years. But if someone would ask, I'd say lighter staking would be a great improvement. The fact that the chain is pretty big doesn't bother me at all. That's easily solved with a bootstrap of which recent ones are always available.

Cheers!

Doubtful,

Nothing wrong with the HBN name, also some exchanges will not support a coin that does a chain swap unless they are paid to setup that coin like a brand new coin.
Plus unless Tranz agrees with you , it is not going to happen.

 Cool

Chain swaps are nonsensical. A new chain = a different coin.

That is obviously not going to happen.

Yes, agree. The wallet is full of useful functions, but is resource hungry. I would guess it is not an easy job to remedy that.

It would be fantastic if we could take a note from DMD's book and use a bit from their book. POS takes up so little resources on my DMD wallet and the coins are automatically regrouped after staking. Makes for a much easier time loading the client.
