So I got the bootstrap finally loaded, now the wallet doesn't have any peers.  Do I need to set a custom peers?

Try this list, entered in file "HoboNickels.conf":

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Did that and I only have 1 connection.  Its been over 12 hours.  This seems more difficult than necessary.

Here is my peers.dat

Be sure to open up the ports on your firewall , especially windows.

If your HBN Active network connection stay Low or you suffer from a lot of disconnects in your debug log.
As usual , we can blame Microsoft, the windows firewall is a strange creature, even thru HBN seems to work without making changes to the windows firewall , it seems to cause some issues.

Some Windows users may have trouble finding active connections or only are able to keep a low number active like 5 or 9 or the Number seems to rise and fall within a few minutes, instead of staying fairly stable.

Windows :
Click start, click control panel, click Windows Firewall,
Make a note on which network is connected Home/Work or Public
Then Click on Allow a Program or feature thru Windows Firewall , click allow another program, click browse , then go to the folder with Hobonickels-qt.exe , select HoboNickels-qt.exe  , click open, click add ,

It should then be in the list of allowed programs with a check mark to the left and a check mark on the right side under home/work or public (you want it to be on the 1 that showed as connected), Click OK , and then reboot.

Next time you start the HBN client, your active connections can reach in the 20s.

 Cool

The most current version is 1.5.1.0, but your wallet should work dispite this warning. Staking will operate. Upgrade it after you are getting connection.

My current ip address list in my wallet (for the "addnode=" in the HoboNickels.conf file) are:

we definitely need to be on yobit  to get some trades and keep some value

as like it is there is no future to this coin, there are to many coins so why should people buy this if nothing happens

I am considering to create a wallet where I send 50k hobonickels as bounty and keep it staking until spent. This bounty would be for anyone who do something of the task list.

I think top thing would be a mobile android wallet with staking ability; if someone will be able to put HBN on some exchange with higher volumes, some tweak of the current PC wallet ( I dont see any, as I have walet open on 10year old sloppy PC for long time without issues) ... what else should be on that list ?

Thanks for any further  ideas

i think most poeple here are waiting that someone else does something
or most of them don't care anymore or can't do anything about it

for now looks like cryptsy kill this coin

for android wallets , team Fly has a service to compile wallets but it s expensive last time i check

i notice i m on the top ten rich list number 10 exactly  Shocked   so i definitely don't wanna let it die lol

agree community is weak because we are pasive, there are not many people really interested in HBN and this is getting worse wit vapourising value.

I can do my part what I told , lets see if someone respond..

No mobile wallets. Client needs to be fixed first.

Sync is old code
Orphan handling is plain stupid
This results in an ever-heavier client

I'm staying in.  I'm actually going to buy some more.  I figure, its small investment, with a potential payoff.  It's a risk, but that's part of it.  Crypsty did hurt.  Glad I got out before Vern took my coins to China.

I have 60k HBM & I will hold onto them until the coin officially lives or dies. HBN was one of my favorite coins in my portfolio, it still is even though it has been going through some tough times.

So has Tranz moved on & stopped with supporting the code?
