That was the output of the good old sha256 sum command.

So, please just pad the front with a zero?  0e707af...

The initial instructions did not say anything about it needing to be 64 characters.

Maybe it's best not to guess that it needs to be padded with a 0..... Instead, I can regenerate the hash when I get home.  Is that fine?

Hi there,

Why is mine showing up as incorrect? Sad

1E7xt1hvskg7RL2Pb2jW9Q3CV65LF3tXKE; INCORRECT (e707af0e027f491d53ce2876b5f5746ba563323ab74fe745a9bb87693d01ac3); 0,02; 300; 6; 997515

It's only 63 chars long. Must be 64.

Maybe. Ur coins r held by BCNext, he will send them to ur account after the launch.

Post here a hash that gives 0e707af0e027f491d53ce2876b5f5746ba563323ab74fe745a9bb87693d01ac3 and ur account id.

But how to run that client? It just shows some .class files and no run or .exe files there Huh

U shouldn't unpack zip file. If u have Java installed then just type

Code:
java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

And open http://localhost:7875

c:\nxt>java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt
[2013-11-22 15:44:50.217] Nxt 0.1.5 started.

Hm.. tried to claim my coins with c07e426943e99f93dd7c03765800e8ca4ea8a3820f286d20a5abe9243c66d2d2 but it says unknown key.

Edit: OK, I'm really not getting this... why should I go to a SHA-256 generator to type in my secret phrase? My key (the above), and everybody elses key is already public right here in the list? And that's the key that you get when you type in your secret phrase.

I suspect I'm doing this all wrong?

U must enter a hash such as that SHA256(hash) == c07e426943e99f93dd7c03765800e8ca4ea8a3820f286d20a5abe9243c66d2d2

I still don't understand. In your instructions you said to enter the secret phrase I used when sending BTC for NXT in a SHA-256 generator. But that just yields the above hash, which is already public in the list in this thread and, when I try to enter it as "key" value when claiming NXT - just says "unknown key".

Sooo.. I still don't understand. lol.

When u sent bitcoins u attached SHA256(secret) or SHA256(SHA256(secret))? If the former, then post here the phrase that gives ur hash and ur account id.

Come-from-beyond, can you upload the client to GitHub?  I can't get mega to work with my browser and it needs to be hosted on github anyway.

Come-from-Beyond: could you for god sake, explain things more clearly, explain it once with a sample?!
I don't know should I first make an account in the other page and then type in your new link or not?
Also what is YOU_ACCOUNT ?  What is the use of our previously used hashes here to claim our coin??
Just explain us with an example (hope you never become a teacher anyway)

1. Go to http://www.xorbin.com/tools/sha256-hash-calculator
2. Type the secret phrase u used to generate the double hash u attached to ur payment in "Data" field
3. Press "Calculate SHA256 hash" button
4. Copy the content of "SHA-256 hash" field. This is ur "key" value
5. Go to http://88.198.210.245:7875
6. Press yellow lock icon in top left corner
7. Enter any secret phrase. This is other phrase, not the same as u used in step 2. Don't forget it, otherwise u won't be able to get ur coins!
8. Press "Unlock account" button
9. Copy a green number in top left corner. This is ur "account" value
10. Open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com/?key=[value_from_step_4]&account=[value_from_step_9]
11. U should see "Done" message
12. Open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com to make sure u see ur account and amount

Example:

In SHA-256 calculator I typed "123" and got "a665a45920422f9d417e4867efdc4fb8a04a1f3fff1fa07e998e86f7f7a27ae3". In Nxt client I typed "777" and got "875119900524031434". After that I'm supposed to open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com/?key=a665a45920422f9d417e4867efdc4fb8a04a1f3fff1fa07e998e86f7f7a27ae3&account=875119900524031434

So, the passphrase we used to generate the double sha256 hash is not the passphrase we should use to get our account id number?

We need to make up a new random passphrase to generate an account id number?

I thought that the initial passphrase that we used to generate the double sha256 hash and submitted with our donation was going to be the passphrase for our account and it's corresponding id.

Has it been determined that because people used an online sha calculator that these original passphrases are insecure?

BCNext thinks it's not necessary to wait until we get correct hashes. He will move this coins to a special account and will give them to owners when they prove ownership. If some unclaimed coins left after the 3rd of January they will be transfered to Nxt faucet.

Maybe these peoples' unclaimed Nxt should be left in a temporary account administered by BCNext and not used for the faucet.  Someone might have a situation where they can't/haven't accessed the thread and they don't know what is going on.  It would be pretty upsetting to lose your investment.

- yes, it is stated in
Quote
"7. Enter any secret phrase. This is other phrase ...  9. ..green number in top left corner. This is ur "account" value"

I thought that the initial passphrase that we used to generate the double sha256 hash and submitted with our donation was going to be the passphrase for our account and it's corresponding id.
- how then the new NXT users supposed to create accounts to themselves, in order to buy NXT from us?

Has it been determined that because people used an online sha calculator that these original passphrases are insecure?
-not at all.

Using an online sha calculator is a potential risk because you are submitting your passphrase to someone else.  I would recommend that everyone use a sha calculator on their local computer.  You can use the command 'sha256sum' in your terminal.

It's probably best that everyone is going to use a new passphrase for their accounts.  Now we just need the client to be hosted someplace besides Mega, so everyone can download it and create their accounts locally and not risk submitting their passphrase to an unknown server over the internet.

Think of the secret phrase as a private key/ brain wallet. It has nothing to do with the sha2 key made earlier and any secret phrase will open an account.
