Hi,

I have new rig, first build, starting out with 2 * 1060 6gb cards.

I have followed guides and read a lot. I have got Claymore running in single mode with nanopool.

I am fining the hash rate on my GPU's is fluctuating quite a bit and having swapped risers, looked at system resources etc I can't seem to remedy it. Before I go crazy I just wondered if someone could let me know if there is an actual problem or if in fact this is what would be expected. I have posted a short extract from Claymore below.

I am very grateful for any advice.

Thank you

I see 39 mh  over and over and over again

Total Speed: 39.378 Mh/s
Total Speed: 39.409 Mh/s
Total Speed: 39.371 Mh/s

that is consistent not flux

flux would be

Better check you hashrate at pool statistics, over longish period of time (12-24h), if you'll see much swings there - you may worry, otherwise it's all fine.
Also, like philipma1957 said, your total hashrate staying 39.431 average (variations 0.02%).

Thank you.

The calculated hash rate in nanopool is varying from 102 to 0 but the reported hash rate is static at 39. Realistically the 102 is impossible so I am presuming the calculated hash rate is simply unreliable?

No  and neither is 0.

think of dice.    tossing  3 or 4 straight  sevens is hard to do  that is like  a 102 hash  rate  it will pop up once in a while

tossing snake eyes back to back is very hard  that is like the 0  it will pop up once in a while

39  avg  is the one to look at

if you do long term  37-41   you are good.

If you drop to 30 or 31 long term  something is wrong.

For arguments sake say 3 days = longterm.

it's the normal, dude
change in the total hash rate and shared happen when depends on a Performance your device to the Pool. the greater the hashrate you have then the greater share you give to the pool, also zero of the rejected, and faster of frequency time, and that's it determines your income.

Ratler00, every single card is different, some might perform better, some worse. I have similar situation like you, some cards mine zcash with 730 sol, some 760 sol.

You will see swings on hashrate on pool side as well, take mine for example:

Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate all your help.

Knowing all is well is great and I have now been able to do some overclocking to get the hash rate up.

Now also going to look at dual-mining.

Thanks again for the help

Your hashrate looks normal, keep in mind that there could be differences between the cards, especially if they are by a different manufacturer. Yours looks stable though, I wouldn't worry at all.

Moreover, in case you overclock your GPUs some time in the future, excessive overclock can lead to instability and fluctuating hashrate.

Now also going to look at dual-mining.

Dual mining means you are mining ethereum, which you should not be doing with an nvidia card. You should look into equihash algos

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I tend to agree but noticed today that Ethereum had creeped up to the top of the list on whattomine.com (with the 1070's checked) and so I was actually considering giving it another shot with my green cards.

Thanks for the advice. I did look before starting Ethereum mining and it was coming up at the top or nearly in whattomine. I have seen something about dual mining equihash with Ethereum and going to look into that further along with auto switching. Thanks again
