Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future?

I don't think a new altcoin will to take over the throne of Bitcoin in short time. Because bitcoin is the highest coin in popularity and has the most effect on the crypto market. Altcoins with more systemic development than bitcoin are currently available but they don't have much impact on the market.

Yes i think you are right and i'm investing in ICO's and top alts too, and i'm waiting that the BTC dominance will be reducing and alts will be growing. As it shown on the image below. But also we should remember that if bitcoin grows alts falls and then after alts pumps like a fried popcorn, it was already happen many times before.

For myself, I chose 4 coins for a long-term game, which in the future will only develop and grow in both price and popularity.

Some of them have huge potentials and I hope someday one coin will replace btc and another one will replace ethereum for sure.
BTC technology is not going to change but ethereum has some improvements on its roadmap and has a very huge developer community.

indeed eth is a coin that is able to stick to and become a competitor of bitcoin, but in my opinion bitcoin will remain the king of all coins because bitcoin is the main coin and has the highest interest and price. if eth replaces bitcoin I think it's impossible.
