Decent Q and A for the newcomer who might be interested. I hate the bitcoin is for crime argument, so I found this satisfying:

"90% of US$100 bills have cocaine on them, and HSBC has paid US$1.9 Billion in penalties for assisting in money laundering. The total market cap for Bitcoin is only US$1.3 billion."

Yeah, the laundering penalty by HSBC helps put it in perspective  Undecided
