Transaction fees are paid out to miners.  Also worth note to newbies, mining a P2Pool node such as this is the only realistic way for you to get newly generated coins with no prior inputs (i.e. clean coins).

One of the downsides of mining on p2pool nodes is that there is no easy interface to let you see your hashrate updating or confirming your submitted shares.  nonnakip has solved that problem with the new beta release of NastyFans' NastyPool node.  You now have the option to sign up for an account at nastyfans.org and use the new 'Mining' tab to see your statistics.  Much more is on the way, but integrating the pool with nastyfans.org is a HUGE first step.

If you sign in to nastyfans.org you will notice some changes. I grow menu items so that mobile devices should navigate easier. I also add basic integration of NastyPool. This is a new "mining" menu item. It shows the current NastyPool hashrate. If you are mining on NastyPool and register your address with nastyfans then it shows your hashrate also.

The NastyPool integration is very basic now. There are many features coming. But I decide to post new minor versions and release minor individual features. This way we can maybe shake out bugs as we go.

You only need to purchase a seat if you want to enjoy the additional bonuses (weekly distributions, voting rights, eventually better stats, & mining lottery).  

If all you want is to view basic stats/graphs and mine with 0% fees, you do not even need an account at nastyfans.org.  All you have to do is find your BTC address in one of the below links.  Also, you could mine without an account and if in the future you decide you do want to claim your lottery tickets, you can by opening an account and registering your address.  You will then receive any lottery tickets that were earned prior to signing up.

Nope, you shouldn't have to worry about setting the difficulty manually.  It is adjusted pool side unless you add a "+X" (with X being a number) at the end of your mining address to specify a difficulty level.

The PPS-Engine for NastyPool is now running. For the next week I will be monitoring the system close and maybe make modifications if needed. From the NastyPool miners page you can see which miners already using PPS. NASTY MINING is one of them. There is also a link there to view live PPS statistics.

As a small bonus I decide to donate 0.0001 BTC to every PPS round payout. This will make sure that PPS miners always get some payout even if the PPS-collective never solves a single P2Pool share during the round.

If you want to participate in PPS testing then you only need to add -PPS to the end of your username (your Bitcoin address). The web interface records your payout share per P2Pool block solved. You will receive the total pending PPS payouts as part of the donation distribution.

Any miner with 10MH/s or more should be able to earn Bitcoin on NastyPool-PPS. This is not new fact for PPS-systems. But it is new for P2Pool.

If all is well I expect to have a official NastyPool-PPS announcement next week. I prepare a separate web site to talk about what NastyPool-PPS is and how to use it and FAQ.

I don't believe nonnakip is planning on sharing his payout code at this time, as it was written from scratch in C and it is still being beta tested.

I hope smaller miners see the benefit and switch to our p2pool node as well, for the sake of the network and bringing more attention to our little NastyFans organization that is providing some cool products and services to the community.

I think you're misunderstanding the stats.  As of right now, the wallet for payouts has a balance of 0.49596293BTC.  You can easily verify this on the blockchain.  This exactly matches up with the stats table at the top of the NastyPool PPS Test page.  That table also shows what the payout would look like if it were made right now.  There is no address on that table with an expected payout of what you wrote.

I believe you're looking at your payout for just the current block. Look at the "Current NastyFans Distribution Window Standings" in the -PoP test page to see your total for the week.

The high reject rate is normal because you are mining on a p2pool node. The rounds change frequently and this causes a high reject rate. It has little effect on your earnings though. I'd recommend reading the p2pool wiki for more info on that.

As far as your earnings go, they are still highly dependent on luck. While adding the -PoP flag does drastically reduce a single miner's variance, your actual earnings are dependent upon the p2pool network solving blocks.

I'll answer the second part of your question.  Short answer is no, 0.03BTC is not low.  Under ideal circumstances, 1TH/s expects to earn 0.01257BTC per day at the current difficulty.  Since I don't know which address is yours in the table, I'm assuming it's the one starting with 15SmT... which shows 0.03899263BTC.  Since Friday, p2pool has found 6 blocks.  You're right about where you should be.

We changed it to -PoP actually, but it has since changed to using port 3334 with the -PoP for NastyPoP payouts and port 9332 for regular p2pool mining.

IMPORTANT information for NastyPool miners using NastyPoP payout method!

I work to improve performance for NastyPool. If you are using NastyPoP payout method there are some changes now! If you are using P2Pool payout method there are no changes.

For miners using NastyPoP payout method:

• change from port 9332 to port 3334
• remove the +N part of your username (if you use that)
• make sure your username ends with -PoP

If your miners are donating to the fanclub (NastyMining, Squirrel Dearing, Bees Brothers, punkboy15) then these changes apply to you as well. With this change I fix support for spaces in the username. So Squirrel and Bees can show their full name without using underscore now.

NastyPoP will continue to work on the old port for now. But I will eventually turn it off because it negatively affects efficiency for all miners. So please make these simple changes as soon as convenient.

For fans interested in some details the NastyPoP payout method now uses ckpool as a P2Pool frontend. After you switch to port 3334 you will notice a dramatic decrease in rejects and a improvement in detected hashrate.

There are some stability issues with the ckpool frontend currently.  nonnakip has been working to keep the pool online while issues get worked out and ckolivas is aware and actively addressing the issues with the ckpool software, but it is probably a good idea for miners to have the regular p2pool port (nastyfans.org:9332) set as a failover.

There were some stability issues when the frontend switch to ckpool.  Since then, nonnakip has been doing a ton of work to see if there was anything that could be done to improve stabilization.  Since there were different frontends running, nonnakip wanted to give miners a way to see what they were mining on.  Eventually I think nearly everyone will be on the ckpool (CKP) frontend as it has advantages.  You may have noticed some weird things going on with the charts and duplicate entries as everything gets put in place.  

The difference you will notice immediately when switching to the new ckpool frontend is drastically lower reject rates and a higher reported hashrate.

Here's the explanation from nonnakip:

It contained some bigger newer Bitcoins that caused the transaction to miss high priority status. This is probably why it was not processed. However it has high priority status for a day and a half now and it is still not processed. You can monitor the transaction at blocktrail.com.

If it does not go through by next distribution I will double-spend those Bitcoin and combine the last distribution with the next distribution.

Is it possible to get the account reinstated?  The username is DebitMe. Also, if I mine to an address on my computer, do I enter that address in my account on nastyfans to get the extra goodies?  Is that how y0u know its me?

Is this something P2Pool doesn't support?

I don't believe it does, but I couldn't find a definitive source to quote.  It is a feature that nonnakip added to NastyPool so that we could open p2pool up to a larger group of miners.

Netstat tells me P2Pool isn't binding tcp6, but there's probably a way to make it do so.

NastyPool implements a simple proxy. The purpose of the proxy is to block all non-mining traffic. As a bonus I also implement IPv6 support in the proxy. IPv6 packets are proxied to P2Pool this way.

It would be easy to add IPv6 support to P2Pool. Since I am not a python guy I think that task should be done by someone else.

The pool's luck is the same as P2Pool luck, as NastyPool is a P2Pool node.

If you are using NastyPoP payouts though, you can see the weekly rates here: https://nastyfans.org/nastypop/rates.html

NastyPoP payouts vary from actual P2Pool payouts depending on our luck submitting accepted P2Pool shares.  Since these are paid by hashes and not accepted shares as with P2Pool, I think you will find that the numbers are far more accurate than if you were to compare actual earnings with traditional P2Pool payout numbers.

This is a standard P2Pool node under the covers, so you can find any normal P2Pool node advertising the luck stats.  Coincadence runs a nice one - http://minefast.coincadence.com/p2pool-stats.php - but there's other frontends on other nodes as well.

Everyone mining on Nastypool shows up to P2Pool as a single miner, due to the proxy frontend Nonnakip has installed.  When P2Pool finds a block, the node as a whole gets the payout, and then within the Nastypool code the payouts are figured out for each miner and then distributed from there.

The recent P2Pool fork was causing some issues with our node. NastyPool now runs P2Pool version 14.0-6-g18b5ad5. That solved the issues by ignoring P2Pool old nodes.

The ISP of nastyfans.org will do maintenance on their infrastructure. This means nastyfans.org will be down! The US-East NastyPool node is not affected by this. It is recommended that NastyPool miners switch to us-east01.nastyfans.org until the maintenance is completed.

The scheduled maintenance will be between Tuesday 2015-09-08 21:00 UTC and Wednesday 2015-09-09 7:00 UTC. The actual downtime should only be a few hours. During this time the nastyfans.org web interface will not be available. NastyPool miners can mine on NastyPool during this time by switching to US-East node: us-east01.nastyfans.org

Expect nastyfans.org to be down from 2015-12-02 18:00 UTC until 2015-12-03 06:00 UTC.

I ask NastyPool miners to change to US node (us-east01.nastyfans.org) during that time. If you use US node as fallback your miner will switch automatically.

We are a part of the p2pool network, so it is every 3-4 days currently.  If you use our -PoP payout method, you will get payouts every week.  I recommend that, especially for smaller miners.

I just pointed my s7 at NastyPool - I noticed a comment on the stats plots page: "(donating to nastyfans as NastyMining-PoP)" - what does this mean?  Also, what is the sharing disposition (across NastyPool) if a block is hit by a miner?

Thanks - that seems pretty fair.  But one of the reasons I came here was that I saw in some of the postings in this thread some talk about encouraging/supporting smaller miners, and it seemed to me that, since this seems to be is a smallish (read: user friendly) pool, and remembering the first few micro-BTc, bigger hashers here might want to automatically donate *part* of their minings to the smaller hashers (i.e., rather than all-or-none of it).  So I was wondering if that's possible?

Well, it is "possible" most definitely.  The address used for the NastyPoP shared payouts is: 1NastyBTCcxbAQQ22kEijbXqgyBPRujftL.  Any donations made to that address will be split equally by all the "PoP" miners on NastyPool.  However, the smaller miners on NastyPool using the NastyPoP payout method do benefit greatly from joining together with the other "PoP" miners by having their variance massively reduced.  Also, with the long payout rounds lately, a smaller miner is very likely to have their accepted p2pool shares vanish from the p2pool share chain before ever receiving any sort of payment.  NastyPool helps to offset those concerns by not letting hashes go unpaid, regardless of when a block is found.

Thanks for the details.  Works for me.  And it's a good thing you're doing for smaller miners, decreasing the variance so that folks' efforts don't "dust out" (think that's what you mean).

EDIT:  Had a thought.  In the first bullet of your "Why mine with us" section, you might add:  "(including dust)"

The payout period is weekly and that is set by NastyPool. However, p2pool needs to find a block during that period so there is something to payout. There has also been a payout issue effecting distributions lately. You can read more about that in the NastyFans thread.
