Would anyone be interested in a VPN service (OpenVPN, SSH Tunnel and possibly PPTP available later) for 1-2BTC/month?

Servers would be located in the Netherlands with 100mbit to 1gbit uplinks.
No data metering, no logs.

Interested to hear any thoughts, suggestions, etc.

There are already many available in the market see for your reference here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade

Plus, we also have some VPN services listed at our website which accept Bitcoins.

You would be another. You will have to come up with some differentiation and quality and reliability in service with more servers.

Thanks for the information.

Even though other providers do offer multiple locations and such, I've never found that to be useful.  One location in the USA and one elsewhere seems to cover just about everything.  First server will be located in the Netherlands, with plans to add a US based server soon after.

Most of those services seem to require some sort of information to create an account.  My plan (for the BitCoin side anyway) is to have it be completely anonymous, no need for e-mail address or submitting even a username/password form.

I plan to be able to allow BitTorrent, but this is not yet confirmed.

I think 1BTC/month would be a fair price for all that is being offered.

I might be interested. Anonymity aside, if you can make it really fuss-free to get an account that'll be a real win.

I think the viability of such a venture depends largely on the marketing. Can you communicate the uniqueness
of your service effectively to a sufficiently large number of potential customers?

Great to hear there is some interest.

It wouldn't be very unique compared to others as providers are a dime a dozen, just like web hosting, dedicated servers, etc.  I believe it all comes down to price, support, quality of the service, and features.  Some will care more about support and quality, while others more about price or features.  I try to focus on all aspects whether I'm building gaming systems or providing a service, though it is sometimes hard to find a balance.  I am definitely open to ideas or suggestions if there is something you need that is not currently provided or is hard to find.

Sign up should be simple enough.  I thought about the "not submitting a username/password" idea some more and discovered that the method I thought of could potentially be a security risk, so a username/password will need to be submitted.  I'll look into a custom script to generate a username/password after bitcoins are received and instant activation if there is enough interest in those.

Also I have currently setup a storage server with a fully encrypted OS (full disk encryption provided by linux) along with encrypted home directories.  This makes it so if the drives were ever seized for whatever reason, nothing would be readable and I could not give whoever seized it the keys/passwords to your data.  Your files do get decrypted at the home directory level while logged in, but upon logout they are re-encrypted again and unreadable even by the root user.  File transfers are available only via SFTP.   If anyone is interested I would be willing to sell some storage space for a monthly fee, and I can provide screen shots if anyone is unclear on the encryption process.

Sorry senbonzakura, I am currently not providing VPS servers, maybe in the future.

Instead of username/password maybe have just a username which is the address you sent payment from and password can just be blank.

That would also work but poses the same problem as the idea I had of using 9 characters from the beginning and end of the sending address, unless you don't really care about someone else potentially using your account.

The username and password is used to log into the openvpn server.  I could do a key/cert based one as well, though it would have to be sent to the buyer somehow.
