going to do some maintenance to pools later today starting with la1 will clear any pending/unconfirmed/unmature blocks and payout *may take a little while to build up your mining balance once back online new hot wallets so expect some down time 1-3 hrs per pool(longer if any of the chains need to reindex) will update this post with progress Edit: LA1 maintenance in progress back online should be running better now EU3 maintenance in progress *finally back online and seems to be working ok now AT1 maintenance in progress back online seems to be running good

When I run cgminer from your site I got clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable
Already reinstalled drivers, tried older versions but nothing helped... Any clues?

What OS are you running and what type of gpu's What are the batch file commands you are using also if you do not edit or delete the cgminer.conf you may get errors

Win 7 32bit, running HD 5770
Wanted to start with cgminer --blake256 -o stratum+tcp://eu3.blakecoin.com:3334 -u xxx.woxrk -p workk
and then change settings but what can I do since cgminer does not see gpu.
Yeah I deleted cgminer.conf and created bat file. Already used newest and an old drivers + sdk.

try driver: AMD Catalyst 14.4 WHQLor AMD Catalyst 15.11.1 Amd dropped support for older cards 5xxx-6xxx series 15.12 onwards making them legacy devices which dont show in opencl device list! e.g. no device number returned also for clearing drivers use DDUonce you do get it mining expect quite a low hashrate ~650MH/s while using quite a bit of power and pools dont show low hashrate too well but it should work

Hi sir,
I have been mining on the los angeles based pool for a few weeks now. I have been doing this with a 2GB video card on an alienware laptop, using cgminer.
I would like to try this using my CPU (core i7).
Could you please direct me to the proper program to allow me to do this? I am running windows 8. (64 bit).
I apologize for the noob question, as I have little programming experience, and am new to mining.
Alternatively, would I do better by purchasing a USB external video card?
Thank you for your time!
Steve

Hi Steve, cpu mining is long gone it is much lower speed than gpu/fpga yet will use as much power no idea if you can get a usb adapter to support pcie gpus for running external and the fpgas are now as rare as hens teeth gpu prices are really high atm but what I would recommend is a cheap motherboard with 3-4 pcie slots buy some powered risers and some midrange cards like amd 460/470/480 / nvidia 1060 place the rig in well vented area and open case/air designs are best, this is also most flexible for mining most crypto coins

Sir, thank you for the reply!
So basically you believe that it would be more beneficial/profitable for me to construct a new computer just for mining, as opposed to CPU mining? I have a few 2-3 year old laptops i was going to put to use...
In the mean time, is there a good program to put my alienware CPU to use??
Thanks again
Steve

yeah dedicated rig for mining is good specially as you only have laptops will be cheaper/beneficial and due to it mining 24/7 less heat noise for your living area if you place it in another room/site cpu wise I am not 100% sure but try xmr think that might make sense to mine on cpu or hunt for a newer algo that is memory hard *dont forget cpu compute is cheap (cloud/botnets) so factor in power cost! best of luck

I agree that monero (xmr) is probably the best option for CPU mining, however the difficulty has been increasing a lot lately. Make sure your CPU supports aes-ni instruction for best results. If you want to mine blakecoin, but don't want to build a whole desktop just for mining, another option is to find an FPGA that supports blakecoin mining. You can connect them to your laptop with USB and they are the most power efficient option. They can be a hassle to set up and you would only have a few hashing algorithms you could mine with it. Its a trade off either way. The fpga boards I know of that work with blake256 are Icarus, Lancelot, Cairnsmore1, and the ztex one (forget model #). If you or anyone are looking to buy, PM me I have 2x Cairnsmore1 I could sell. Good luck with your mining endeavours

And how exactly do you imagine that? IMHO, blakecoin is not going to go that high until it has a real use (as in-game currency).

maybe someone would if they had your address like maybe in your forum sig but otherwise think most of us are not mind readers in other news: working on AT1/LA1 upgrading them and some minor maintenance expected ~1hr per pool but will update all done no drama went quite smoothly for a change AT1 - upgrading now done LA1 - upgrading now done

IMHO, blakecoin won't go that high unless it gets on a bigger exchange than Cryptopia. If it was on an exchange with massive volume like Bittrex or Poloniex then it might get a huge pump.

IMHO, blakecoin won't go that high unless it gets on a bigger exchange than Cryptopia. If it was on an exchange with massive volume like Bittrex or Poloniex then it might get a huge pump. It was on Bittrex for years 2014-2017 until 0.5 BTC volume every day was too much!!! price is still about same so made 0 difference *and just being on Bittrex is apparently not good enough for some large traders as it needs to be on Poloniex too reminds me of some peoples talk of cryptsy or mtgox in long run that talk worked out really well in practice few years down the line I am 100% sure that favorite trader exchange list will change as it has done so far! so point of wasting money supporting exchanges so people can P&D or just dump is wasteful for me the developer of Blakecoin as Bittrex said "dev needs to take up any slack in volume" which is not cool so f*ck P&D and traders whims its just bs to make them richer and use alot of my time dealing with exchange drama if you personally really really want it on those exchanges(Bittrex/Poloniex) then talk to the operators and put your money where your mouth is because I am not paying for it at this time why should I so I agree with Mek about real use same goes for most other crypto currency And how exactly do you imagine that? IMHO, blakecoin is not going to go that high until it has a real use (as in-game currency). or some other real world use case pretty much anything done with Bitcoin in theory can be done with Blakecoin given enough demand/support for it (faster block time so will always scale better than BTC tps) truth is though there is so much bs and hype with other stuff in crypto scene inc all the P&D stuff that normal use case seems out of place as many are claiming to change the world features or make you rich bs then dead after a few months or the change the world feature turn out to be broken oh wow thats useful for now most of the long term community are at least happy about my continued long term commitment to support these projects in true foss style which is currently mostly in my spare time between work or other projects, some other people whatever I did they would not be happy because its not as good as "insert currency name" or does not have a large fake volume bla bla or is not on xyz exchange or does not automatically give you a reach around bla bla anyway enough of my ranting need to finish this maintenance on at1/la1 then get a few hours sleep
