I'm about the most chilled dude in the entire cryptosphere guys ... but as my sig once said (& still does on many other fora ) "I don't always kill & eat things, but when I do it's because I'm a Lion & they were things" @cinnamon_carter:- My apologies, I did not realise I was in 'mixed company', that epithet was totally unsuitable for a Lady. @Blue:- Overworked? Always! Grumpy? Dude, please!

Extract from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=487814.msg7034356#msg7034356 (by yer Lion ) ....................... For those in need of guidance in the mining department, I'd heartily recommend having a gander at the Blake-256 Ecosystem. - I've been 'merge-mining' for about a week now & am very pleased with the results so far. For those who haven't a clue what I'm talking about, it means you mine one pool but get FIVE coins for your hashrate. (Soon to be seven!) Okay, it takes a bit more work to market all the coins efficiently, but it's worth it. I'm getting at least double what I was mining Myriad-Groestl. In particular, Dirac & Electron are extremely high-value right now. The Devs over there are extremely active & helpful, some respected whales are publicly 'upping' the project and best of all, there is a profound feeling of 'this is mining, but for grown-ups' - a refreshing change from the usual 'bar-brawling' so prevalent on a lot of other threads. If you have the time to do justice to it, if you care about maximising your potential, if you want to pay the bills & still have a little spare to buy more Zeit, there's no better place to mine right now

I'm really impressed with the setup and ingenuity of BlakeCoin and the other blake based coins. There aren't many others out there with this level of experience and dedication behind them.
Thanks for all your hard work.

How many coins will be added to the merge eventually?
as many as possible the max is 1 Main(BLC) + 253 Aux = Total 254 coins no new coins will be added today been working on front end extension to support 11 coins, more tweaks to reduce issues when hit by DDoS and some stability tweaks to improve uptime, only once this is done will I get ready to add more coins to the merge, tomorrow evening is the earliest if everything goes as planed without issue

Does anyone (else) think that - at some point - the number of coins will become too big for 'normal' people to get their heads around? In terms of:- Threads to follow/communities to build? Wallets to manage? Markets to manage? I don't know what my own 'limit' is, five I can cope with (esp as two of them are pretty worthless atm ) but I suspect that (depending on whether they turn out to be 'Diracs' or 'Photons') my own 'magic number' will lie between 10 & 20. May I hazard a suggestion or two for coins? I'd like to see a Higgs Coin, very rare, very 'valuable' & a Hubble Coin pitched somewhere between Dirac & Electron - both dedicated to 'the public understanding of science'. No, I can't code them myself, I'm yet to even attempt to compile a wallet!

Think Lion was talking in general with all the new ALT coins coming out daily.
Just a warning to everyone. Most of these new short POW with POS coins allow Developers to rent huge amounts of hash during the POW phase then dump them. It's the new hidden IPO/Premine scam! Seen this a lot when a coin just comes out and get on one of the few available pools. The pool hash rate is no where even close to the NET hash rate. That's a good indicator something fishy may be going on.
I'll stick to the tried and true coins being developed by BD and Fellows.
