Bitcoin is still holding well above 7K while the total market dipped lower than the previous low on Feb 6th (bitcoin dipped under the previous time). At the same time Ethereum is getting absolutely killed and with it, lots and lots of alts which are based on its platform. Why do you think this is? People are selling some Ether to buy BTC thinking it will go up? How do you think the G20 crypto meeting will impact the crypto space tomorrow and tuesday? It seems very likely that the effect will be negative, in which case we may see an ever bigger dip?! Thoughts?
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Actually there are already articles appearing the G20 will not be looking to crack down on cryptos as much as had been feared. Some sites are even attributing Bitcoins bounce to the news, so I think if this dip was the result of those fears it is near bottoming.

I do think there is more than just the G20 meeting factoring into all this, so while we may still have some rough waters ahead, I don't think it is going to nose dive to $3k or anything.

For today, Bitcoin is beginning to rebound and may be affected by some good news from the G20. Everyone regains confidence in Bitcoin. This will cause a rising trend for the entire cryptocurrency market, but it is afraid Whales are ready to harvest again.

At the same time Ethereum is getting absolutely killed and with it, lots and lots of alts which are based on its platform. Why do you think this is?
This goes back to the sole reason altcoins were created: the creators were too late to buy cheap Bitcoin, so they create their own, pre-mine it, and once they hype it, they're rich! But in the end, they don't want their own made-up shitcoin, they want real Bitcoins!
Ethereum has no use at all, "code is law" doesn't exist anymore, and what's left is using it to run decentralized ponzi schemes called ICOs, which are the next step in making dumb people part from their Bitcoins, just like altcoins were a few years ago.

I can't wait for all altcoins to dry up, and yes, that's spoken as someone who holds some.

Similar logic applies to how most of the major altcoin mining pools operate. They mine various shitcoins, the most profitable at the time, and send them to the various exchanges to be converted into bitcoin as soon as possible.

As long as people observe bitcoin as the measure of value in the crypto world, it has nowhere else to go but up.

It depends on how will they address financial stability.

If you want to profit in this dip, buy using fiat.
Do not buy using a crypto currency. Cryptos are down. It's hard to tell what will be its value next week or next month. Meaning you don't know if you really profited more by buying a new coin or by just holding what you have. You can easily see your profit if you used fiat to buy crypto as well

I guess that the previous falling of the crypto exchange markets is a game of the "whales". Usually all crypto currencies from TOP-100 are being dumped at one hour. Ethereum and its tokens were almost killed indeed.

There is no significant changes in the crypto politics, so I think that this factor won't give a huge negative impact to the prices of crypto currencies.

As far as I understand it all, the reason why Ether price goes down since the all time high of $1.4k a piece is because it was also and still experiencing network problem just like Bitcoin but the only difference is that Bitcoin are doing things according to resolve the problems while Ethereum is not. Many people said that Ethereum's time is coming this 2018 but the other way around is happening.

There are already many articles about G20, good news articles, that's why bitcoin gained 10% last night and went above 8k again. About Ethereum, the major reason about the dump is that EOS ico was/is selling their eth raised and still doing it.. and as we all know, EOS has a lot of ETH. And let's say it, ETH was great in past, but now there is nothing new, while many other projects borns for surpass ethereum. ( like NEO, waves.. )

Yes, the effect was negative, moreover, the market is falling due to bitcoin, because it keeps on it, without bitcoin there will be no altcoins, this is the basis of everything, that's why such dependence is observed!

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) monitors and makes recommendations about the global financial system and in a letter addressed to G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors on March 13, the FSB’s initial assessment was that crypto-assets do not pose risks to global financial stability at this time.

Among the 20 countries that make up the G20, 4 are pro-crypto, 11 neutral, and 5 against cryptos and with FSB's neutral stand, it's kind of expected/possible that the cryptocurrency agenda in the G20 meeting on today and tomorrow would be along these lines, no new regulations or possible regulations by a neutral/against nation, but IMO the overall outcome wouldn't have any significant negative impact on the market.

Don't expect bitcoin to react easily, its not gonna happen in one day. This is a good news for everyone and we should be more patient waiting for the time of pumping, don't rush this market this needs to stabilize before it finally go up. Just keep positive and good things will happen in the coming weeks.

I can not predict it. before any impact reacts badly to the development of crypto.
I feel at this time the situation is very difficult for new investors. panic creates a market down. I can only monitor what will happen next. hopefully this passes quickly and the market returns to normal

I don't think we will see a bigger dip, in fact now as I am writing this post bitcoin price is almost 8500 dollars. I have stated many times before that this is only a whale game and they want the panic sellers to sell at a dip so the whales buy it back and make more money over time. Hold is the best thing to do now. I never believed much and I still don't in ethtereum and other altcoins but yeah buying some shitcoins with low values at maximum 0.05 usd for a coin maybe a jackpot after a few years if that coin proves itself.

There are many scenarios but the best is to hold bitcoin for me.

because people believe in the future of bitcoin and because bitcoin is the only thing that matters. it is the only cryptocurrency which is not just carrying the word "currency" around but it actually performs as one too. because bitcoin has limited supply and a small supply and a lot of other reasons.

in comparison other coins like eth have huge supplies with no cap and no usage and nobody believes in their future apart from a bunch of bag holders.

I think the price of bitcoin going down is affecting the entire market. The altcoins value are dependent on the value of bitcoin. The meeting and it's outcome will affect the market but we cannot tell whether it will be positively or negatively. If it happens that they finally decide that bitcoin is not a threat, then bitcoin price will start going back up again because that will build confidence in a lot of people to invest.

I can't understang why did etherium fall so deep. The only thing that justify this fact is that people are selling their etherium coins for buy BTC. In this way bitcoin will rise above, but it means death of etherium, because it will be useless with its price for everybody.
