Is it really needed in this forum? maybe yes or no, but for me it has been and still effective. This forum was made for people who is interested in Bitcoin and some Altcoins so I can say that this is one of the best place to promote your Crypto related things and ICOs. That's Advertisement is all about. Those posters with Signature in their account and making substantial post in different sections/topics in this forum attracts people to read their ideas(For me it's just like Newspaper).

I doubt that ICOs will ever start a bounty campaign if that way of advertising don't work. It helps the pre-sale by attracting more investors. And you don't need to question them since at the end of the line, you will still get paid unless that project is a scam.

The idea is to create awareness to prospective investors. The forum is a vast resource of news, discussions e.t.c about cryptorelated stuff.

A Google search on bitcoin and cryptocurrency can bring up some bitcointalk pages making this an opportunity for members wearing a given signature to advertise the ICO to the person doing the search.

The awareness created from the signatures leads  to investing in the ICO by prospective investors. No investment, no profit will be made.

Of course they work and they're often both very effective and profitable. Half of the time I'm not even aware of 99% of these crapcoin ICOs until I see them advertised here by shitposters crapping all over the place; so yes, they're very effective. Also, often it doesn't cost them very much if anything at all. Most are paid out via tokens they've pre-mined themselves so there's no real cost to them. If you don't hire a campaign manager - which many don't - then there's no real loss at all. Many make sufficient money via their crowdsale so it's worth paying one anyway. The shameful thing is that it's counterproductive to them to have a manager who does his job because the more people posting = the more people who see their advert so it doesn't really matter about quality of posts either. This is something that should change though and they shouldn't be allowed to operate here in such a way.

Despite the unnecessary posting signature campaigns bring, we have to admit that this way of advertisement is truly effective. When it comes to advertising, the main principle of it is that you have to reach for your target market the best way possible. Since this forum is made to discuss about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, then most people here are the ones knowledgeable about ICOs; which is why they have to reach out to the members here. The sad thing about signature campaigns in my opinion,  is that only a small percentage of the advertisers would actually look into the project and post on the ANN threads to actually inform people or write about what their ICOs are about. Most members here get away with being paid without even knowing what they are advertising. I do understand that members who are joining signature campaigns are not obligated to post about the signature they carry, but they are the reason why you earn. It's the least that can be done, but I guess visuals/carrying the signature in each of the posts can be enough at times.

They are not going to use signature campaign as a way to advertise ICO's project if it is not effective in the first place. Using signature campaign as one of the ways on how they are promoting ICO's helps to attract investors to buy their tokens, they are even using different ways like Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, Translation, and article bounty, though there are some ICO's which are not fulfilling their promises, for example is paying us, we all know that they are not all legit.

P.S : So, therefore I think, before someone advertise his ICO's here in this forum, I think it is better if we are going to put some punishment to those who are just using us for their own benefits and not going to pay us in the end.

Yes that is why it is still going on and it works just perfectly. We see the advertise everyday under posters. When people keep posting in the forum the number of visualisation for that specific signature keeps growing. The more the participants the more is the visualisation.

For example,

if there are 100 participants in the campaign then, the signature for that company is wore by 100 different participants.

In general each of them has to post 25 posts in different section of the forum.

Thus, 100 Participants X 25 posts = 2500 visualisation all over the forum per Week!

Apart from this,

the signature under the poster changes for all the posts that they have made earlier in the forum. Thus, the legend have highest payment because their out reach is higher as they already have more than 1000 posts per person alone.

Lets say on an average there are 800 posts already made by the participant.

Then 800 posts X 100 Participants = 80,000 views !! So yeah thats hell lot of views and great out reach any company can get!

If they know that this forum is not effective enough for ICO advertising , why would they even more ICO advertise here ?
The answer must be yes because it's win win solution for 3 parties ( poster, ICO project , and Forum owner ! )

I think they really do, cause of in other case that way of commercial would die long time ago, logically. There are many people on the forum with different interests. The most interesting to myself I count gambling sites signatures cause of I like to try try myself on new sites, but in ICO I am not interested any more, I've invested in couple in which signature campaigns I participated in the most beginning, but all of them in the same condition in the case of token's price.

If you are here in this forum it means that you are crypto related person, this forum has a members of 1 million plus, not all of those member including me has the same level of thinking and has the same richness as others. signature campaigns promote their project specifically into this place because all of the human beings here has the knowledge of what is crypto (not stating all) so far as i'm concern, Campaigns are the best way to promote project. it's like you are running for CEO to the company you work, you have to promote or advertise yourself into that company.  in other words developers of new project in this world knows where  the crypto related person lives in a volume of number and this is it the forum. all in all to the question of your topic my answer is YES.

Yes it is, Business men will not pay you for nothing because they are business minded, and they know too that not all business can be successful, most of them expect to fail and most of them will try again because they learned. If that sig campaign dont really work I think they will decrease the offer, but still most of the bounties focusing on giving higher stakes for this campaign.

I do not have any idea on how ICO promotion goes with signature campaigns but promoting some type of bitcoin related services and products can be very effective. For instance, if you own a gambling related website that allows players to play with BTC and win in bitcoins. There cannot be a better place than this to advertise such a platform here. The members here are already those who transact with crypto and thus may be interested. We should also not forget that the posts made here may be getting good amount of traffic from Google so those visitors may try that product or service in signature.

Infact investors on this forum would make an investigation on your signature when they see it everytime. And also for the future purposes like some traders here searching for some good promising coins. Its true that most of the participants don't even really care about what is the project all about behind their signature. They're only purpose was to wear it because they are going to be paid up even me I don't know what is my signature all about but soon I'll do some research.

Some of the signature campaigns here are running for more than an year. They are paying about 0.5 BTC in total per month to all participants. Now since they have continued the campaign for so long, they must have analysed the returns they are getting from these campaigns. We may wait to see experience of a  member who has himself used these signature campaigns for promoting his website. Though it can be risky for an online business to share those details in public as the competitors may start using same tactics.

Project which are used to promote via signature campaign are getting famous more than the silent project with out promotion. I have understand some project owner's concern about the savings but need to make the project fame that is what actually needed in ICO promotion.
There are some bounty campaign operating the payment in both btc and tokens this will be also another good way to take project to heights.

Of course such campaigns are useful, because through them the ICOs obtain several benefits:

a) They can access a broad market of potential investors who, simply for the sake of promoting such ICO, need to be informed about the advantages of investing in that project, which is the first step in convincing them to invest.

b) They promote in an extensive way the brand announced among the thousands of users of the forum who, otherwise, would not have knowledge of that brand.

c) Thousands of dollars are saved in advertising and publicity since developers usually only dedicate a minimum percentage of their tokens to this type of campaign, often less than 1%, when a massive campaign can often cost 40 times more.

do they really help to promote ICO
It's effective to long term businesses so it should be effective to ICO's as well. But if the ICO is crap and even it has a lot of participants wearing their signature and people are knowledgeable and knows how to research before investing, it won't help them so it's depending to the project.

But if its for the marketing, it is really helping.

Do they really make profit out of this ?
It gives information that they are existing to many members here so they are spreading their audience to their potential investors so yes, they will make profit that's why there are too many ICO bounties that are existing and does allocate signature campaign to it.

1) You are right about this, the signature campaigns gives them early exposure and helps to gain initial users. They can show this while applying to a potential investor.

2) It is obvious that any project being advertised here will attract a lot of eyeballs. Main thing is how many of people convert.

3) This being a tried and tested method, developers are now not scared to spend on this. They are giving away some tokens for free but it is still an added cost to them. Those coins could be worth thousands of dollars later when the over all value rises.
