Keyboard Symbol "Ƀ" = U+0243  Latin Capital Letter B With Stroke

I noticed squarewear.biz using this symbol to represent the coins.

I thought it made for an excellent standardized symbol for the coins since it is already a part of the default Microsoft Arial font.

Thoughts and opinions?

Probably on my blog by selecting "Bitcoin" category from the drop down.

I've been writing more about the police state than I have about Bitcoins recently.

Most of my police state articles aren't quite so... academic in nature as my Bitcoin articles.

I have a low tolerance for tyranny.

Yes, we are fans of the Ƀ at squarewear.biz & MetaCo.in.  There's a whole web page dedicated to the symbol and its bitcoin-related art: http://www.ecogex.com/bitcoin/

The alt-579 works on Windows.  It doesn't work direction in the forum editor; I'm not sure why.  It works in other editors, Word, wordpad, notepad, and even the browser URL.  If I'm using it in a post, I just jump up to the URL line, type in alt-579, and then cut and paste.  That works in Chrome at least, not sure about other browsers.

i'm missing something for URL entry in Windows:

by "alt" you mean hold down the "Alt" button then type "579"?  that doesn't work for me.

Yes, hold down alt, type 579, let go, and the symbol should appear. I just realized it works for me in Windows Wordpad, but not Notepad.  Try it in those.

I guess it depends on what Windows version you are using.
I'm using Win 7. Here it doesn't work in Notepad, but it's working in Wordpad and the Chrome address bar.
But only if the font has the symbol in it. In Verdana for example it's missing.
