Maybe we need to stop the trillion dollar war and then we have all the money in the world again?  Just my humble opinion.

Isn't social-security+medicare about $1.5T, with the defense-department about $0.7T ? The deficit is about $1.1T, right? Looks like we need 50% cuts to all of those to get balance the budget.

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

defense is about $0.9T (listed as "security" under the discretionary spending heading).

medicare is badly in need of someone to get the house in order.  the US government spends more per capita on healthcare than Canada does and doesn't even manage to have a universal system.  healthcare companies need to be told where they can get off, particularly pharmaceutical companies (go look at their income statements sometime.  they spend much more on marketing than on R&D).
