how do i link to a transaction? i am using bitcoin qt and http:// (insert link here isnt working)

find the txid and paste into your favorite bitcoin transaction site. there is no built in mechanism for providing links to a blockchain information website.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Open up your client, go to the Transactions window and right click on the transaction you want to get details for. Copy and paste the transaction ID into Blockchain.info / BlockExplorer.

Search engines tend to crawl these block explorer sites, so if you simply wait long enough (usually less than a day) you can simply google/bing/yahoo/duckduckgo the transaction ID or pubkey/address to find a transaction
