======================================================================================================

To reserve shares automatically and for easiest spreadsheet export,
please visit the new DZ Miners Cooperative website.

=====================================================================================================

Back by popular demand! How am I supposed to keep the shelves stocked if you guys/girls keep buying everything?  Cheesy  Wink

Re-introducing Bitmine to the DZ MC! We almost bought a BM Rig for R2 until we received a Day 1 HF buyout offer we couldn't refuse.

100 92 85 70 64 57 39 27 ZERO shares available!*

* Additional orders still being accepted on our site:
paid orders will be moved up to R7 for unpaid reserved shares from R7.

Oversales will be shifted to R8 shortly. Round 8 will be an identical GB to R7, to be hosted on the same Bitmine Rig as R7.

Target machine is a Bitmine Rig: https://bitmine.ch/?product=coincraft-rig

Target hashrate for Round 7 is 800GH/s 1,000GH/s with 100 shares issued. If there's additional demand for at-cost Bitmine shares, all we need to do is issue additional shares as the Rig maxes out at 2.5TH/s. This is the *nominal* hashrate. We're running this in Turbo mode and possibly Super.Turbo mode since we'll have our Cooperative's miners in an extra cold, enclosed A/C cooled cabinet built by bobsag3 and other engineers at his pro colo facility.

At-cost Share price is: $70 for 8-12 GH/s 10-15GH/s, est. delivery late December/early January.
Hosting/Management fees are applied during payouts every 2 weeks, and are the world's lowest professional hosting/management fees at only 2.75%

Your share includes an estimated 20 minutes of power protection built into the at-cost share price. Power protection from outages, sags, and spikes come from an APC UPS with Battery Bank to keep the BTC flowing during short power outages.

This R7 Bitmine Rig is in the Bitmine reservation queue with a downpayment already sent: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll87/SurfSkateKauai/DZMinersCooperative-Bitmine800GHs-Round7.png

10/15 Update: Bitmine has upped their HashRate estimate 25%! OP HashRate numbers have been revised from 800GH/s to 1,000GH/s: https://bitmine.ch/?p=2226

===============================================================================================================

DZ Miners Cooperative Roles for this R7 GB:

thomas_s : Primary GBC for Rounds 5-7. Vetted Co-GBC during R3/R4. R2 member.  Set up Online Auto Reservations for the co-op! Thank you! Send BTC payments to our website and questions for R7 to thomas_s .  PM CC -Redacted- and thomas_s please for anything related to reservations or payment details.

DZ : Co-op Founder / overall coordinator of the Cooperative, background role for R7. Overseeing payouts and Primary admin for Co-op miners. John K. Escrow vetted.

-Redacted- : Vetted Co-GBC and remote admin for DZ MC. Also: DZ Miners Cooperative Boxed Set owner in R1-R7!

jungle_dave : Vetted Co-op member and Former Electrical Engineer / Network Engineer. Backup Admin for co-op miners.

bobsag3 : Vetted Co-op member. 2.75% hosting fees for vetted miner hosting at a professional colocation hosting facility in Missouri! Lowest fees around.

unknown.usr, mootinator, thomas_s, -Redacted- : Software programming and software support.

==

If you have questions as to how this whole darn at-cost, Democratic Miners Cooperative that's also a mesh network works, please send me a PM or state your concerns publicly as there's nothing to hide in this co-op.  Smiley

Only hurtful or trolling posts will be deleted as we welcome all valued opinions, insights, concerns, and improvement ideas to improve our at-cost (or even below cost) cooperative of about 50 members (so far).

There are 5 leaders in the DZ MC, with thomas_s and I doing the actual running of the Cooperative. Mining Equipment will be operated by vetted IT pros or a vetted IT college student, with backup host sites available. Payouts are every 2 weeks minus a 2.75% Hosting/Management fee, the lowest around. Once sales begin, Refunds available up until unit ships at 1.5% restock fee. We vote on all buying, shipping, and resale decisions as well as vote on the month to attempt equipment resales after 5-7 months of operations. Vetted GB Coordinators are encouraged to team up to increase buying power and close out Group Buys quicker. All suggestions are welcome to help improve our Co-operative.

Round 7 Payment Details (Similar to R5/R6 sans PayPal, for the most part)

You can also state your soft reservations below if you need some time to get Bitcoin together. Soft reservations usually have a 48 hour window of payment but I won't be strict about that on this GB, as this isn't a Flash Sale.

========================================================================

BTC Payments will be directed to thomas_s for R7 but I will have co-admin to this wallet for auditing or for payments if we're in a rush. We've worked together on 4 different Group Buys with great success including 2 of the fastest GB sellouts in the forum's history for Industrial class Rigs.

After your payment, please follow up with a PM to Thomas:

Subject: DZ HF GB R7, x shares, x BTC
Details: Please include Tx ID and your wallet address for payout

thomas_s - Co-GBC during R3-R6. R2 member. Primary GBC for Rounds 5-7. Send BTC payments and questions for R7 to thomas_s . Set up Online Auto Reservations for the co-op! Thank you! PM CC -Redacted- and thomas_s please.

DZ - Need escrowed Group Buy shares? For a 2% extra fee you get 3rd party fund holding, dispute resolution, and $500 insurance per transaction at BTCrow. [DISCLAIMER: I, DyslexicZombei, am an approved Escrow Affiliate at BTCrow.] Please PM Carbon Copy thomas_s please prior to escrow payment.

Thomas is handling questions and collecting payments for R7 via our site (unless you require Escrow, in which case you can PM me). He set up the automated reservation site and the GB with my input. Great work Thomas, and it's definitely an improvement over me trying to keep up w/ an avalanche of PMs and payments.  Tongue

I will still handle:

- Ordering
- Shipping details
- (Optional) Escrowed GB shares for those that insist on Escrow Protection from a 3rd party for: holding BTC funds, post-sales dispute resolution, $500 insurance per transaction at 2% extra cost to share price. Semi-automated Escrow is done thru BTCrow.
- Remote miner setup
- Remote troubleshooting/
- Incremental overclocking
- Payouts or assist in payouts
- Auditing hashrate vis-a-vis payouts
- Dispute resolution and arbitration, if necessary. [Should be rare as we're all adults that don't need to yell. Tongue]

Refunds: If we can't raise the funds to buy this Bitmine Rig, you will be refunded or offered shares in Rounds 1-6 which can be found on this GB Forum under my user name. There's no restock fee during this fundraising period.

Ah, who am I kidding, we're buying this already reserved Bitmine Rig whether it gets sold out completely or not.  Cheesy

Nice! I have you down for 2 soft reservations. Welcome back! Delivery is expected late December/early January.

Edit: 1 of the 2 DZ MC Jupiters are at -R-'s for testing, but should be heading to Missouri soon. Hashrate is being split to R5/R6 for both machines.

No.  I don't have anything to do with this one. Not my hardware....   I'm having a hard enough time keeping track of the last 2.5 group buys....

EDIT:
One Jupiter hashing, the other on the way.  It will be here either Friday or Tuesday (Monday is a holiday)...

I am in for 3 shares or 3x 70 = 210.  Not the strongest commitment as I am having a bit of a problem with coins and fixing this other group buy.

I have 7.5 btc invested in this buy and it has an issue that if resolved I will buy 3  shares here.  If this buy ends up as a total loss (hope not) I can't buy the 3 shares here.

Roger that. I have you down for 3 reservations and 2 for bobsag3. Don't forget that I owe you $525 in a few days for the R1 UPS/Batts. If you'd like, we can subtract the three R7 shares from what I owe you & I sign the Tx w/ your ownership & send in a 3 share payment to the R7 wallet on your behalf that Thomas is in charge of. I would owe you 3 R7 shares and $315, if you wanted to go this route for my payment to you.

Also, please keep an eye out for a letter from me & the missus via ebay for your 4 PayPal shares in R6. It should arrive Friday/Saturday if anyone will be home to sign for it. I'll send your payment to -R- once it clears.

Ok, would you like me to pay for your three R7 shares and subtract this from the $482 as well? The $525 I owe you would be paid as: 1 R1B share ($43), 3 R7 shares ($70/ea), and $272.

Can we pay via PayPal?

Hi ishkur,

I'd rather we don't because the only way it makes financial sense is if it's sent as a gift. Too many gifts may get my wife's ebay-linked account flagged. Another thing is it takes 3-4 business days to transfer to checking so I can buy BTC at Coinbase at a 1% fee. Your alternative is BTCQuick at 7.5% fees.

I already promised 1 other person a PP payment to get this GB going. I'll take one more PP, which can be yours if getting BTC is too difficult. But that's my limit for this R7 GB, which is 2 PP payments sent as a gift so I don't have to deal w/ fees, illegal chargebacks, and fraud.

The only way I'd take more than 2 PP gifts for this R7, is if the buyers agrees to an additional 3% Paypal fee (it's normally 2.9% + 30 cents so just rounding up) over the $70 share price, so they'd be $72.10 instead.

Of course, that opens up another can of worms with chargebacks which is another reason why merchants love BTC...

Hey slayernine, I think it's a given that it's going to be high. I think it's also a given that mfgs will continue to struggle to put our hardware. The reason being: it's damn hard and expensive to develop and produce ASIC wafers.

bobsag3 & I were up late on skype last night talking about how KnC's rollout was only a semi-success (pissed premium host customers that weren't first & some paid $4k a jupiter per yr to host, and many people still waiting on day 1 orders).

Bitmine's customer protection plan is that for every 10 days late they are, you get 10% extra hashrate. After 60 days lateness, they will give a full refund. We've pretty much decided too: that since we'll have an extra cold A/C cabinet we're overclocking the stuffings on these rigs (safely of course).

I'm not sure how awful it'll be if it comes to a full mass refund but in my dealings with Giorgio I've found him to be reasonable like an adult, instead of acting like a child like we've seen from 2 companies that were early entrants,

Also, re: Overclocking; these Rigs have a Turbo mode. We'll see about doing a Super.Turbo mode depending on the temp, fan speeds, and HW error rates we're seeing. We're going to have much more focused A/C cooling than the avg. home (or even server room) based Server or PC will ever see.

If they're late, this rig can take the extra module(s) without having to buy new hardware, which was another draw, when we were considering R7 options. We may purposely leave room in the rig for this purpose.

I am in for 3 shares or 3x 70 = 210.  Not the strongest commitment as I am having a bit of a problem with coins and fixing this other group buy.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238336.0;all

87 shares available.
eyes peeled for the paypal shipment.  on that 525.   43 goes to  hash  boost on buy 1. IIRC so it is only 482 owed to me.

Ok, would you like me to pay for your three R7 shares and subtract this from the $482 as well? The $525 I owe you would be paid as: 1 R1B share ($43), 3 R7 shares ($70/ea), and $272.
I need to opt out as my other knc buy looks to be troubled. so the 525 will use only 43 for the r1 boost.

My group buys just have not panned out.  sorry.   but very grateful that r5 and r6 from dz and co look good.

maybe someone will deliver and i can get back in on this r7. but not for now.

No worries. I understand & I'm sorry to hear your GBs haven't been going well. I'm sure I'll see you again.  Smiley

So 1 R1B share @ $43 + $482 for the UPS/Batteries.

BTW, hope you don't mind: after talking it over with firsttimeuser, while he could still use spare PSUs, I may ship that overkill UPS I'm buying from you to Missouri to help service R2-R6 Jupiters, Baby Jets, and Sierras to Missouri and buy a smaller UPS/battery backup for R1 which is only about 350-400W.

Would it be ok if I send you a label to print later this week after I pay you?

It would help the co-op out much better this way IMO. I think that's a much better investment of my resources into the co-op. What do you think?

Who knows? I just flow with the go.  Smiley

For instance: if someone came to me to become vetted as a GBC, and happened to suggest that...oh...they have (or will soon have) funds to buy half of an $11K MPP Sierra...then you might have the fastest Rig GB buyout of that size, in this forum's short history.  Wink  Smiley

Sounds like sci-fi if you were to read that last sentence in 2008, but it actually happened and the co-op has become much, much stronger and diverse with thousands of dollars worth of expert pro bono work and funds donated by myself and 5 others to make this at-cost co-op operate well and thrive.

I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to be dealing with other responsible adults. I love that the Co-op's leaders know what to do without needed to have their hands held thru the whole process. No man or woman is an island and this GB Coordinator is humbled and proud of this lil co-op that could.

You guys make me laugh, I've made friends who I'm positive I'll be friends for years, and it's an honor to co-lead this merry band of glass half full optimists.
===

BTW, I won't go into details, but some heavy RL stuff happened near -R- so please go easy on him for requests & such, if you can for a bit. He's fine & I won't hurt our friendship by revealing what happened but I'd appreciate it if you guys can give him some time/space.

If you have some urgent matters related to R5/R6, please contact Thomas or myself first.

Thank you.

Alright, let's just pause this one for now. Thanks Bob!

Once we get the base order paid, we'll roll over any oversales to Round 8, which will be another 100 shares for another 800GH/s.

In other words, R7 if finished but you can still order on our site & we'll move these oversale shares to R8 shortly (once R7 is paid).

===

R7 is closed until further notice. Additional shares may become available if soft reservations aren't paid; the first paid R8 shares would move up to R7.

Mahalo everyone!

Thomas will need to answer that as Primary GBC and master spreadsheet keeper for R7. I'm thankful that he takes his work seriously & that he's relentless and patient about getting things right.

We have 17 shares in soft reserve that I haven't heard anything about, as far as payment.

bobsag3 was mentioning payment for 20 shares so that's a big chunk right there. We'll re-open R7 if we don't hear back from people as to what's going on within 72 hours.

Great news! When do you expect to order this bad boy?

I'm guessing this is the question I am supposed to answer as DZ didn't quote anything =)

Technically we have the order placed and some payment for it sent, the remainder will be sent as soon as the receiving wallet receives the funds if I'm not mistaken we get entered into the production Q at the time of full payment being received (meaning the faster the shares are paid for the faster we get placed in Q).

Yes, this is correct.

There's 2 Qs at Bitmine: a reservation Q, and a production Q. We're currently on the reservation Q. Any new reservations will come after us.

We move to the production Q once we're all paid up.

After talking things over with Thomas and comparing notes, we're reopening this Round 7.

30 shares available!

TL;DR: $70 = 8-12GH/s, includes an estimated 20 minutes UPS/Battery backup + the world's lowest hosting fees during this limited time introductory period: 2.75% hosting/management fees + incremental overclocking with careful monitoring of hardware temps and error rates.

35 shares in soft reserve (including 20 with bobsag3).

We're also live on ebay for 10 shares: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131018101196

Can someone please test this link for me?

Depending on when payments clear and soft reservations are paid (or not), these eBay shares may be shifted to Round 8 hosted on the same Rig as at-cost add-on modules.

Thanks Etienne!

I hope so too. Since it's my job to think ahead and to think of contingency plans: There is a plan B we can attempt as a "Hail Mary Pass" (American Football reference) but I'd rather not go that route or go into details quite yet. It would salvage securing free shipping if we go with this plan B.

I am a bit confused. This offering is priced in $USD, and yet it's supposed
to be paid for in Bitcoin? What's the expected exchange rate, or do I get
to choose my own rate?  Smiley

I am not surprised that it's priced in $$$, since virtually all the "inputs"
(i.e. the miner, shipping, etc) have a $$$ price attached and not a Bitcoin
price.

Since I am a complete on Noob on actually completing a transaction with
Bitcoin, will I get a TX-id if I send the Bitcoins from my newly opened
Coinbase account?

Thanks for your patience.

The site calculates the exchange rate it uses an average rate so if there is a slight spike (that happens in 10-15minutes) or a low point that doesn't last for long it doesn't affect the price.

I've always used electrum to send transactions so not sure how you can get your txid from coinbase I believe you can but its better if you send the coins from an address you control.

I think since the Bitmine is somewhat modular, it would be add on modules for the existing rig.  Or cointerra...in which case I hope I have btc available to throw at that too.

Hmmm...

Sierra in November ($8/GH/s), TerraMiner IV in December ($7/GH/s) or TerraMiner in January ($3/GH/s)? That is a gambling question, given recent difficulty increases.

On (un)related note. Would any of fellow Co-Op members be willing to sell a share (or a fraction of) in R4 and R5/R6?

Oh no! Are you doing a DZ MC Boxed Set too?  Cheesy

J/K: thank you for the compliment! An internet toast, my man. (We really need a beer toast emoticon here)
For myself, I oversold on R4 and somehow ended up losing my own Boxed Set in my own co-op the oversales.

==

BTW: payment is being sent in today for whatever is in the R7 wallet. If we don't have the full amount, we'll hopefully have enough for at least 500GH/s to secure Free Shipping before the promo ends tonight in about 8.5 hours. Thomas or I will follow up with a PM and email to adjust our order to secure the Free Shipping.

Saving money with free shipping saves us about $2.20 per share.

28 shares available.

Payment *will* be sent tonight to secure Free Shipping.

If/when people show up, they'll be shifted to R8 which is going to be shipped at the same time and exists on the same chassis anyway.

How will this hash rate compare to Round 6?

/Frank

Hey Frank,

HashRate per share is rated at 1/100th of 800GH/s for this Round 7/8 vs. 500-550GH/s for the R5/R6 KnC Jupiter. DZ MC Jupiter below-cost shares went for $78 for 4-6GH/s albeit at an earlier delivery date.

However, the Bitmine Rig has a native turbo mode (speed unknown), and we'll seek to go even fast then this, if we can push the limits safely without risking our hardware. Thanks to the work of 4 co-op GBCs teaming up (and with the help of a college full of engineers helping bobsag3 out next door), the DZ MC is having a specially built A/C cooled cabinet within an already cooled facility, so that we can push hashrate & improve our chances of finding blocks.

==

With that said: 10 shares available.

1 more hour before payment. I thought the deadline for free shipping was last night but its in about 90 minutes.

==

Semi-OT: but I've vetted a 9th GB Coordinator and/or ASIC miner host! This is the first GBC I've vetted from Asia.

He's already an active GBC with a successful track record, but he contacted me for my free vetting services. If he so chooses, he's now also free to team up with our co-op's 5 GBCs (so far) to pre-reserve chunks of future ASIC miners to help bring low costs and the best values to Group Buyers.

Update: Bitmine told me/us to wait for full payment of the full 800GH/s instead of sending in BTC piecemeal, or trying to do a 2nd new 500GH/s rig w/ the original R7 6-7% down payment applied as upgrade module(s).

Essentially: we need to reach ~53.xx BTC before we can fully pay for the 800GH/s module and officially move from the reservation Q to the production Q.

We actually targeted 56 BTC (or about $7K at the time of GB setup) as the goal for this GB so that we can buy UPS/Battery protection of about 20 minutes.

At the moment, we appear to have 46 BTC on hand or already paid to the R7 BM wallet (~3.3 BTC) or to one of my two go-to co-op wallets: Thomas S. funds for 9-12 R7 shares in one co-op wallet, the bulk of the R7 funds are in this co-op wallet: https://blockchain.info/address/1C5R7t1XdVPxUBFUnBWJnRPx7ZMZBgnv7L

This wallet address has been used for well over 200 BTC of transactions without incident, mostly for DZ MC functions.

Under no circumstances send BTC to that address for your payments, that is just where it is being stored prior to sending to bitmine

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the supermen running the hardware will squeeze at least 1 TH/s out of this baby.  So, if BTC hangs in at around 130USD, this round should pay back the investment in ~35 days, which includes fee deductions.  (Say, +10% or -20%/fud dispersant = 30-40 days.)  YMMV

If power and cooling costs don't eat our lunch this should be a paying proposition for at least another year.

Sweet.  I should get a couple more of these shares.

When an order is placed it reduces the stock, if its not paid for it has to be manually added back in, also people reserving then backing out / not paying.

Latest update from Bitmine:

"2) The nominal hashing power is 25 GH/s and not 20 GH/s as initially announced, this is due to some last minute optimizations that have been made with the design, a free 25% increase!"

Therefore, I'm upping the hashrate estimate 25%, per Bitmine: https://bitmine.ch/?p=2226

TL; DR: $70 share = 8-12GH/s 10-15GH/s

27 shares available.

Those are paid by the combined DZ MC co-op funds for Rounds 2-7.

There's also a beast $1.1K UPS/Battery bank combo that I bought from philipma1957 that's headed to Missouri in a bit.

After final accounting we may actually be short a few shares (we may have said that once or twice in this Round) but we had enough to buy the miner!

We're either going to offer a few more shares (not necessarily right now) or just split the hashrate among ~93 95 shares instead of 100.

EDIT: Including OldGeek's 2 PP shares, which will take a while for funds to clear, but I'm listing him as PAID for R7 for 2 shares.

EDIT: Including OldGeek's 2 PP shares, which will take a while for funds to clear, but I'm listing him as PAID for R7 for 2 shares.

Thanks for that.  Still waiting for the confirmation.

/Frank

Hi Frank,

As far as I'm concerned: You're all paid up. It's just going to take a while to add your Paypal funds to the BTC wallet as it takes 1-2 weeks for us to get funds from eBay shares, which means those funds have to be floated if we include them in the Round's purchases.

I actually got your letter w/ eBay GB details out today. Couldn't get to it yesterday & Post Office was closed on Monday.

No worries though, there's no concerns about you not paying; it's just going to take a while for your funds to show up, which is why we're sometimes hesitant to use PP for Group Buys (that and eBay/PayPal doesn't like it when we get around their proctology exams (AKA as their exorbitant fees)) because it can slow down things for the co-op when we're buying hardware.

Since your shares will be part of the included small UPS fund, and the hardware is already purchased, this isn't a concern at the moment.

Great news!

After the dust settled, we only sold 91 shares *but* thanks to BTC rising in value this last week, we had enough funds for purchasing the Bitmine Rig & still having leftover funds for the usual 20 minute UPS protection that are included with DZ MC miners.

Therefore: 9% extra hashrate will be evenly split among the 91 PAID shares in R7!

No need to do anything different: instead our payout calculations will have a divisor of 91 instead of 100, to automatically adjust your R7 shares for the 9% extra HashRate!

==

Also: Bitmine specs are 25GH/s per Bitmine ASIC chip in normal mode, up to *40* GH/s per ASIC in Turbo mode!

Therefore: this 800GH/s rig we bought can do 1280 GH/s in Turbo mode! You'll also get 9% extra hashrate automatically added on top of that!

Keep in mind: since we'll have more focused A/C cooling then your usual server room, if the Rig can handle it without letting out the magic smoke, then we're going to incrementally overclock even further while carefully monitoring temps/performance/error rates.

From what I've heard its cheaper because bitmine announced a halloween sale to DZ in a skype call last night so the price is lower on the module if we order it during the sale.

It's true. I was talking to Giorgio on Skype like I updated in the R8 OP after I paid off R7, and might've been the first person outside Bitmine with this info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291141.msg3354576#msg3354576

Giorgio's confirmation of the sale: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291141.msg3355225#msg3355225

On behalf of this co-op, if I'm not doing GB work, I'm doing due diligence on manufacturers and checking out potential future deals for the co-op. It's how I sometimes uncover gems or special deals thanks to the impressive combined buying power of our co-op's members and leaders.

I mentioned that I already saved the co-op 12% off the R7 BTC price by taking advantage of the higher exchange rate compared to when we did our down payments on Friday. I passed on these saving by capping the GB at 91 shares instead of 100, with the extra 9% hashrate to be split amongst us during miner payouts. This extra hashrate could work out to be a free additional 1 to 1.5 Gigahash extra per share that R8 won't have.

I already cancelled 1 order and I don't want to cancel again after I may or may not have helped talk Giorgio into giving a discount for everyone. They're a small company and I'm trying to build a positive, longer term relationship with the manufacturers that I deal with on our behalf.

==

Wow, even Black Arrow stopped by in R9. We're getting notice from manufacturers who find the double and triple USD at-cost price points we can offer to be attractive compared to the usual 4 digit prices.

Due to a shift in the production of our CoinCraft A1 chip, a three weeks delay affecting December-batch units has just been announced. Customer protection plan triggers and will feature upgraded hashing capability for free. Orders from January and later batches should NOT be affected by the delay.

Nobody likes to hear about late deliveries, especially in the Bitcoin mining world. While we tried to do everything we could to carefully plan the delivery terms, sometimes delays still happen in places where you have no control of them. This is the case of what happened yesterday, when we had a conference call with the supplier of the chip to follow up with the delivery schedule of the CoinCraft A1 ASIC chips, which were supposed to arrive at Bitmine’s assembly plant this week. Unfortunately, the production of the silicon wafers used by our chips has been delayed by three weeks from the factory, effectively forcing us to delay the December batch orders. As of now, the January and later batches should NOT be affected by the delay because our production capability is enough to recover the delays.

From Customer Protection Plan:

2) For each subsequent 10 days of late shipping, we will add for free 10% more hashing power to your order as penalty.

This is due in about 3 weeks with BM's version of MPP kicking in with extra hash rate. Let's cross fingers!

Merry Christmas everyone! If you celebrate or don't celebrate this holiday, my toast of good cheers to you and yours is still the same. I'm thankful for our customers and I'm thankful for you co-op members that have helped make this co-op the success it is today by helping us improve things over time and helping one another out with knowledge. 5 months ago I had no idea I'd form the biggest public co-op in the world for BTC mining.

It's an honor to be the founder and co-leader of a co-op full of so many like minded miners, and I'm both humbled by our success and very thankful to have met my co-leaders, which has resulted in round after round of world class values, and a crypto umbrella company founded upon the core of the DZ MC (with the co-op shielded as a sub-company).

Here's to a successful 2014!

Apparently production just started today, so we should be getting the rigs soon =).

As another note so no one gets blindsided hosting fees will be slightly increased due to power consumption of the customer protection plan as Bitmine was late and this order should receive additional hashrate which equals additional power.

No shipping update yet. I do believe we're very close to the automatic refund with 10% added IIRC that was promised by Bitmine for December batches.

Our Bitmine orders are:

R7/8
#2237, Rig, Mid October, showing as Completed
#2365, upgrades to Rig 1, Late October, showing as Processing

R18
#2298, Rig, mid-late November, showing as Processing
#4209, Rig 2 upgrades, early-mid December, showing as Completed

It's possible that they may have bundled the upgrade into the orig. orders (or viceversa), which is why half the orders have been showing as processing for months.

Here's a screenshot of our orders: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll87/SurfSkateKauai/BitmineOrders.png
Here was the original #2237 order: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll87/SurfSkateKauai/DZMCR7BMre-payment.png

(Edit: interesting that our #2237 order shows as a higher amount now; unsure if because #2365 was bundled into it, or if because of BTC's higher value)

Hello DZ, has it been 71 days of delay based on the committed shipment date?

If so, please see CPP and refunds deadline posted by Giorgiomassa. I have posted below...

CPP and refunds deadline
Confusion would be the best term to describe an otherwise very straightforward policy. A dedicated page explaining in simple words how the CPP works has been available here http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=850 since day 0, but it looks like it wasn't clear enough, or just not read by most people. Let me resume some key points:

1) First 10 days don't count in late delivery calculation.

2) Refunds can be asked on the 71th day of delay based on the committed shipment date, which is the one published when you place the order. For avalon-clones and December batch customer, that means you'll be able to ask the refund starting from February 27th (December 16th stated delivery date + 10 days + 60 days). An appropriate page on our web site under support will be opened tomorrow for anybody willing to ask for a refund and yes, we will be honoring them within 30 days.

3) The late delivery compensation for your unit(s) will be determined at the exact moment of its assembly, that's why it makes no sense to keep on asking the support team, they won't be able to give you an answer till the unit is in production!

4) The compensation is calculated on 10% steps of increase of the nominal hashing power that you've ordered, rounded to the next highest hashing module. So, if you ordered a 200 GH/s unit and your unit leaves our warehouse after 32 days of late delivery, that is 22 effective days which is 30% additional power. Theoretically that would be 260 GH/s which, in case of the Desk unit where the hashing modules are 200 GH/s each, that would make your order shipped with two 200 GH/s modules for a total of 400 GH/s. Before creating again a conspiracy based on my words, please note that we're currently evaluating the possibility to supply late orders with half-mounted hashing units (i.e. 4 CoinCraft A1 chips instead of 8 ) so whereas you'll still get more than what you were actually entitled for, it may be less than the above mentioned example.

5) Refunds are made in the same payment method on which the payment was originally made. That means: wire transfers get refunded with wire transfers, bitcoin payments get refunded with bitcoin payments.

6) Refunds are pinned to the daily exchange rate at the moment when the refund will be issued, based on the original USD price of your purchase order which is the base currency for the prices stated in the website. That means:
6.1 If you paid by wire transfer in USD, you get refunded by wire transfer in USD
6.2 If you paid by wire transfer in EUR, you get refunded by wire transfer in EUR at the daily USD/EUR exchange rate based on your originally invoiced amount.
6.3 If you paid by wire transfer in CHF, you get refunded by wire transfer in CHF at the daily USD/CHF exchange rate based on your originally invoiced amount.
6.4 If you paid by bitcoin transfer in BTC, you get refunded in BTC at the daily USD/BTC exchange rate based on your originally invoiced amount.

7) Refunds are not mandatory: if you don't request them with our refund request form, we won't be doing this automagically for you. You can opt to wait for your 50% (the maximum) compensated order to be delivered for any amount of time.

8 ) Refunds are based on the originally paid amount, excluding any coupons or discounts. For example, if as an avalon-clone customer you opted for a 50% free coupon on your originally paid amount of $1000, your refund will be based on $1000 and not on $1500.

Bob its pretty obvious that they are dropping the ball hard and then Chinese will take all their business. It would insane to keep this shipment even though it sounds like you are in bed with them being their distributor. I'm sure you read the other threads and know all the bullshit going on with Bitmine.

So, if GB R7 invoice amount was $6,898 my understanding of the breakdown is as follows:

Plus 10% additional penalty       $689.80

Less Bitmine Admin Fee            $30.00
_____________________________________
Refund amount                       $7,557.80

Bitmine.ch would purchase BTC and refund BTC to GB R7 which is then split to the share owners less the 1.5% fee.

Thomas, is this your understanding?

So, if GB R7 invoice amount was $6,898 my understanding of the breakdown is as follows:

Plus 10% additional penalty       $689.80

Less Bitmine Admin Fee            $30.00
_____________________________________
Refund amount                       $7,557.80

Bitmine.ch would purchase BTC and refund BTC to GB R7 which is then split to the share owners less the 1.5% fee.

Thomas, is this your understanding?

Yes that's my understanding on it. Everyone can vote to have a refund requested if they would like.

Thomas, do you have the Bitmine.ch refund request form? Will a refund forum/poll be set up?

I can say that I have not gotten any shipping info thru to my UPS account, and nothing has showed up to hosting... I will get DZ to check in on this.

Checking for any updates from DZ to see if GB R7&8 are +71 days, if so, is a refund + 10% going to be submitted?

Lets get this refund poll setup. You were happy to take our BTC and you still get an admin cut on the refund so lets do this.

I'm trying to push for the refund but I need to get in touch with DZ, we have actually lost money in the Group Buys by paying for extra things instead of requesting funds from GB members like other groups do.

While they're shipping units, they're so late, and there's enough momentum, that the Refund Request Form is going in tomorrow. I would've sent it tonight but I don't have a scanner to scan my ID which they're requiring for refunds.

The refund form says that the refund should be processed in 30 days. When it arrives I'll be sending the BTC to Thomas to deliver your refunds (minus a small refund fee). BM is doing a conversion so they're sending the current USD equivalent of the BTC we sent at time of ordering.

You're welcome!

So: Sometime in the next month, we should be receiving our refunds at the current BTC/USD translation at time of refund.

They've been ignoring us since late March.

I sent them everything they ask for to verify ID for a full refund on March 31. Not a peep from them since or a single response to follow up emails. Please feel free to contact them as well if you'd like on everyone's behalf. It might help as in they hear from other irate people wondering when they're going to send refunds.

Bitmine has some explaining to do to all of us.

DZ,

In my experience,  they only answer the phone,  and it seems like most people have their emails to support unanswered.

I'd suggest staying up late one night,  firing up skype,  and giving them a call.

Be prepared for 10-15 minutes of listening to one verse of "I've got the power" over and over again.  Having this song stuck in your head the next day may be the true cost of doing business with bitmine.ch.

"I've got the power, hey, yeah, hey

Like the crack of the whip, I snap attack
Front to back in this thing called rap
Dig it like a shovel, rhyme Devil on a Heavenly level
Bang the bass, turn up the treble

Radical mind day and night all the time
Seven, fourteen, wise, divine
Maniac, brainiac, winning the game
I'm the lyrical Jesse James"

I had quite a lot invested in this...
This was suppose to be delivered in december if i remember...

The lack of news is irritating and it seems that you have dropped the ball.
What is going on? Am I the only one wanting to see my money back?

I will post a message everyday until this is resolved.

R7 is Bitmine order# 2237, send over an email to Bitmine and double check.

The last communication received from them was asking if we would like to receive the units or wait for a refund.

I'm still waiting for a refund from your company Thomas! It's been more then 6 months now. Undecided

We have an legal agreement and Minersource aka Miner Hosting LLC keeps ignoring it and even tried to send me 6 month old useless miners after the order was cancelled.

On April 11, 2014
"1. A refund request is final. We will not accept to reinstante your order if you change your mind later.
2. As per agreed terms and conditions of sale, we are not obliged to issue you with a refund and this delay is acceptable. However, we are doing our best to keep everyone happy and we'll issue the refund.
3. To cover time used to refund this order, for each transfer needed to be made, we will charge 20 USD [Or BTC Equiv at spot price] and all 3rd party fees.
If you have paid in fiat (USD),Please provide us with your complete bank details and we will be doing our best to send your money back within 2-3 weeks."
Order ending with ..4732

Please send me my refund already..

Move on? No time to report this to the cops.

Particularly Matthew Carson, Terrence Thurber, Thomas Thurber and others are who you are going after. Check with Oregon Mines if they still even exist.

I was not paid back on this.

all in all this was a crash and burn company.

the co-op  had around  20-22 rounds   of sales.

I did well on some and lost on some.

They are gone.

Some advice only  use gear in your home if you can't afford a loss.

Almost everyone of these companies  turned out badly.

Hashnest run by bitmain  is one of the few winners.

I don't know of many more then them.
