Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Technically, Memorial Day is about remembering those who have died while in service for the United States Armed Forces. There's no contradiction there. But when you amend "given their life for this country" you are adding a whole lot more than just nostalgia and respect to the statement.
