See, guys.. This is how the free market works. Demand spikes, prices rise to curtail demand until it equals or drops below supply. Too low below supply, and prices will drop until demand meets or exceeds supply. See where I'm going with this?

Got a problem with the price?  Don't buy then.  It's that simple.  If demand slows down, then the price will likely drop int he future.  Stop your bitchen!  Tongue

I don't even see any point in buying new hardware at this stage. Even at $100, a 5830 will take you about a month and a half to pay off. That's OC'ed too, running 24/7. These sold quick back when you could pay them off in weeks .

People who mine will make their money back plus more.  People who don't mine and just sit and watch TV will get programmed.

They are eXtreme edition cards after all. They have a huge copper heatpipe + solid block.

Actually, it's 66 days for a $100 5830 -- even with a decent electric rate (8.8 cents) and proportional mining (=greater return than Deepbit PPS)
That's with a hashrate of 270, which is a target easier to hit.

If you want to go with 300 MH/s, simply subtract 10% from the payoff period -- still 60 days, not 45.

Knowing their unusual pricing patterns, some items are actually on sale, some are fake on sale, and some are silently on sale.  This could have been any of those.  Like for example, I just recently got an i5-2400 processor there.  It was $185 + shipping.  Now 2 months later it's $195 with free shipping. Now, notice that this card has free shipping but the box is kinda huge and it's not light.  The shipping may not have been free before but it is now so...same net price?  Who knows.

This card in particular though is obviously running super short from Sapphire.  Newegg probably ordered more really quickly so Sapphire raised their price a hair and newegg was okay with that since they flew off the shelves.  It's not like newegg to just  raise prices on something.

I think its because it it the LAST batch of Sapphire 5830 ... Here in Europe, they were in stock for last two months, but, after few interruptions in supply, they are now marked as "product ended". So beware.

What's wrong with 60 day pay off? so after 60 days I would have made back the cost of the card, and still have the card that I can sell for 80% of the cost. So basically I've been making money since day 12. That's insanely good and I don't think any other investment can match the performance.
